  1. Prince--Purple rain is usually a big hit at BBQ's I asked for something with a real guitar part, that is uber easy. I am a baritone btw.
  2. Open Mic night at our weekly neighborhood bbq. I didn't realize, should have asked about songs earlier

  4. absolutely. Mostly the beach but we swim at least 4 times a week
  5. I usually dont drink the fancy coffee much I do drink about 2 cups of black coffee in the mornings..what kind of beer? lots of kinds. Depends on the food and weather. Have probably 20 different micro brews in the house atm
  6. That is how I feel. Perhaps a pair to run my subs. I could really care less about bass so...
  7. I drink about a gallon of sparkling water a day. The ONLY liquids I drink with any regularity are: Cappuccino , Espresso, Beer, Wine, Sparkling Water Sports drinks aren't exiled from the home, but the only reason they are bought is that they are portable. Rather rare though. They don't do anything good for you body.
  8. WaterHow in the hell did I know you was going to say that..lol besides water.. Sparkling water
  9. Water
  10. Songs don't have to be acoustic, but they can't require a complete band. I can mock the sound of something else if necessary and hell I don't even own an acoustic guitar. I do have an old Gibson, but it is too rare to travel with and is really a plectrum not an acoustic.
  11. The song isn't supposed to be douchebaggy, the guy singing/playing it is. Had no idea what wonderwall was, recognize it once I hit play on youtube but that is awful and something guitar wise I could have played when i was 7.
  12. Was that show in 95 or 96? I was at it if so.February 6, 1996, Luther College, Decorah, Iowa Yep. Senior Yr. I couldn't remember if it was then or 95.
  13. And rock in my truck. No sub necessary.
  14. Rodrigo y Gabriela is worth making into a Pandora station. I love listening to shit like this. I can't take the time to learn any of it though as it will take away from what I am trying to do. In a year or two I'd like to be able to play all of it instead.Just made the station. Thanks for the tip. They are my favorite band atm.
  15. I took classical lessons from the time I was 6 until I graduated high school. Took a year of Jazz guitar from Ray Charles's organist. All I learned was where what note was and how to play it. Now I am trying to understand why so I don't need the music.

  18. I want to be able to play anything with anyone without any previous preparation. Once you have all the notes it is only rhythm to add which is also hard, but isn't a deal breaker.
  19. ie, in the past I was interested in playing shit note for note to be able to. No problem for my to still lay down Crazy Train note for note and it isn't something I am practicing now. Would be a complete different thing to take the whole rhythm part and invert it and play it elsehwere on the fret board or to take the solo and triple it's length without sounding like you still aren't playing something Randy did live.
  20. Throwing up a Tim Reynolds solo is something I'm interested in fingering, but I haven't worked on any fingering or chord chops since I started playing again 6 months ago. Just working on learning what I was always too lazy too in the past and applying it technically. Figure the rest is easy once my fingers do what I want. Add to that knowing where every note is and know every note in every chord and formation and then I can start playing technical things. Makes them WAY easier to learn/copy/modify.
  21. takes less time to sharpen than to go to the storeDon't have a grinder though I paid $16 for an angle grinder from Northern Tool with a ton of blades. I use that fuckin' thing ALL the time. It is a must own. I do normally sharpen the blades on a bench grinder, but either work.I like northern tool I had one down the road when I lived in east nashville. It's like a Harbor Freight that doesn't suck. A little more expensive, but the quality is an order of magnitude higher. I have one about 1.25mi away from me.
  22. I was serious though. I haven't sang and played in front of anyone since 1996.
  23. http://youtu.be/o8jFaPj9vxo"]https://youtu.be/o8jFaPj9vxo I am a couple years away from that. If there are no words, this I'll try first though.
  24. This is teeny http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_71776_NVX-MVPA1.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA&scid=scplp4487776&gclid=CjwKEAjwocKtBRCf9d_Q5ovcyHASJAAHhJYO7hmGItiIT5g1p_fG6t8IqfjWftGIEtDL0l08pvwO6RoCw07w_wcB
  25. Speaking of if you were going to listen to some douchebag play the acoustic guitar and sing, what songs would you want to hear. Now limit the list to only ones with cool guitar parts, not vocals and share the list please.
