  1. Windows 8 devices are starting to look more and more tempting. And now that I finished my Note2 charging woes, it would be smart to change and go through that pain again. NOT Android or IOS are WAY too limited for a car install IMO. Android...yes and no, depends on how many peripherals you want. I was close with mine. Windows is WAY smoother and quicker at everything though.
  2. So the cost of a lease would be (down payment plus monthly payment * 36) -0 + ( maintenance (0)+ wear and tear+ lease fees) =cost Yup. But still cheaper than buying a new car usually and keeps you in a new car so long as you accept the loss as a cost of living. You made the assumption people are dumb and buy new cars...
  3. So the cost of a lease would be (down payment plus monthly payment * 36) -0 + ( maintenance (0)+ wear and tear+ lease fees) =cost Don't forget the potential over mileage as well. Those fee's hurt.
  4. Buy something as new as you can that has depreciated a crap ton that you expect to not depreciate quickly from that point on. Buying price - eventual selling price + whatever ownership costs you want to include is the calculation to use. Not buying price.
  5. When a business leases a vehicle 100% of the payment can be written off as an expense. When they buy one they have to depreciate the car on a yearly basis. Normally there is a major tax benefit and huge effort benefit for the company to lease. For a person, the ONLY advantage is it forces you to flip cars exactly at a certain point in time.
  6. Not trying to hate, but that UI is hideous and looks like a 1995 web page design show me a better one I can make it look like whatever I want How is it made? I've been making programs in LabView where I make the UI look like Android material design. XML and pictures. Only trick are finding/making the pictures.
  7. Shot a better pic of the big ugly today. Cell phone one ftl. Some day I'll figure out the right angle to park and shoot it....but first I need to correct the paint BAD!
  8. 90% of the time the screen is a clock screen saver. Real simple
  9. This is the home screen for which I rarely go, not even under boot up. Obviously it was originally designed not for a Portrait display. Interesting that my computer when I screen shot it turned the background to black. It is actually the same as under the buttons, just a small transition. I am going to reconfigure the button sizes and screen but it gives you an idea. In the Cadillac logo I can embed any of the sensors on the car and normally Local Weather actually shows it....when connected to the internet. The logos go grey like that when not connected. (ie GPS). That is disconnected since I was using it in Garmin. As for other operating systems, I need to run: HP Tuners MiniDSP Music Reverse Camera OBDII Voice Commands Steering wheel controls Internet Garmin Maps HD Radio Pandora Bluetooth Phone Dual monitors and sound for movies for the kids in the backseat and so on. This was basically run and it works. It restarts right where you left off less than 2 seconds after starting the car. The downfall was the programmer has no sense of taste and it needs customization but IMO the general format is better than anything I've seen. If I only needed an audio player that'd be different.
  10. It is a serious bitch to find graphics that have a transparent background. I haven't optimized ANY of the buttons above, just used what shipped with it. Focused on functional layout first. I prefer something minimalist as well, but that isn't my theme that is the Now Playing screen. It is all written in XML for which I have the source code, but have never programmed so I am learning. Fun way to learn to read someone elses code, lol. But seriously if there are sexy transport buttons that are png with transparency where the button is not, I'd love them. I made my own when I did my house and would use some of them, but I don't want fancy buttons here. Just a slight change of transparency and a symbol. As a reference, if the volume slider or track slider were any thinner they would be hard to push while driving without looking. And yes, I'd like blind control. Exactly why the FFWD and REV arrows are so big on the bottom of the screen.
  11. insanely impossible to use. Button size while driving is key

  16. Smile and wave. In other words, walk around with your dick in your hand.
  17. Stretch them 3 seconds on off 4-5times a day.
  18. Belly >> rest. Never cook fish in foil. Doesn't cook long enough to need it.
  19. Horizontal slider is how far through the track and the vertical slider volume. Time based visualization below the album art.
  20. Speaking of, here is my "nowplaying" screen atm anyway. There is one error you can see I am trying to track down. Only affects one folder of random music so I had to use that as the test bed.
