  1. Clarification was for the thread, not pointed at you
  2. One other thing to note. His website is full of misinformation and facts are regularly edited right off. Take EVERYTHING there with a grain of salt. It is really easy to tell who has been over there and been misled when they make a thread here. It is really sad
  3. The Q60 or 37 is basically the same as the 370z but you get a backseat. Amusingly used they go for simliar dough. It is more soccer mom ish, but also better for Gavin. Actually made my list of potential convertibles when work is ready to lease me a new car.
  4. Get well little buddy! Thanks dude. Sleeping right next to me atm
  5. Why? just "cuz" ? seems a wicked short cut to thinking.. just me. He has his "lil name" on one of the baddest drivers made........ maybe its you ??? A better question is why would you not? The guy is a complete piece of shit. His sole goal is to chase $$$ no matter how he gets it. He'll step on noobs, sell them useless pieces of crap and do whatever to make money. He even goes so far to embrace other crooks in the realm of car audio for his own profit. As for the driver, I am sure that has nothing to do with Godsmack's comment. That all being said, the buildhouse can control quality but can't stop an idiot from creating a dubious design that makes no fucking sense. Kevin from Skarbage proved this and was deceitful about it to the car audio forum world as well. He seems to have found a compadre in Steve which makes sense considering they both have the propensity to only care about themselves and are okay to gain business with non-ethical practices. ANY company that behaves like that should be shunned by everyone. Misinformation, lies and hiding of truthful information is not ever acceptable in any business. I know I for one have nothing but hope that businesses that operate that way fail miserably. It's downright criminal behavior.
  6. Exactly why they partnered with BMW.
  7. Time is money, but I'm cheap lol. Long term I want to do basically that anyways as I'd like to move up to a 14" screen but that will require removing the HVAC controls from the dash as well. Just don't want errors in the interim.
  8. Hmm, if it looks like that. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/supra-more-bmw-toyota-173014389.html Concerned it'll be priced like a Bm'er and not a Toy though
  9. I've read a couple of horror stories that I am not sure I believe regarding the door chime module. Functionally that the CAN bus talks to it and when it gets no response the computer doesn't know how to deal eventually and requires a pull the battery power cycle to clear things. If that is truly the case I'd spend the $50 for a module. My other option is to hurry up to figure out a CAN interface and just respond A-ok whenever it asks whatever.
  10. Mom is here too. Done with the surgery...still not awake, but in recovery. Doc said (Knocks on wood) that it was pretty much the least bleeding his seen in that surgery.
  11. At Children's. Tanner is getting his tonsils and adnoids out. So hard to watch them put him to sleep.
  12. Miata I'm 6'2 and probably as wide as a miata. Two Miatas ! Or one. Butt cheek shifting ftmfw
  13. What were they? Younsayong 34.6 leads me to think it was 315/75R16 which is 34.6x12.4x16. I really hope you are right though. Bias ply Super Swampers. They will sing to you. Dollar for dollar the Bfg's are hard to beat. They wear like iron. I have replaced my last two sets at around 60k. They could of went 20k more if I wanted to be real chintzy. I've had SUPER luck with BFG's as well. Not uber quiet however.
  14. I like the look, but I also am curious about the service records like Sean is. Additionally the lack of a head on shot makes me wonder if it has frontend damage from a prior accident. J Honestly was just curious what you guys thought of the murdered out look. Had no intentions of buying or even test driving that particular one. (Is 3.5hrs away and way over KBB value) My taste for most things is an "industrial" or "steampunk" look. As far as cars I like "atomic" era body styling. My point is I would not buy a car to boost my ego or impress ppl. Is strictly for fun. Sean nailed on the head though as far as the persona. Hadn't veiwed it that way.I learned real quickly on buying used luxury bombs how to typecast the owners. The one thing you can't have in one of those cars is a crappy owner. Conveniently the stock wheels and other accessories are extremely saleable so buying a stock one and modifying it is rather cost effective. Service records tell a story on a BM'er, one I'd really want to know.
  15. Thanks. My dumb ass just put the console back in. Getting to the back side of the rear cig lighter however was not obvious. That one is switched. Normal lighter isn't which is EASY to get to. Check the fuse box. You MIGHT be able to re-route the wires from there, making the front cig lighter be ignition dependent. J I wonder if the amplifier wire is ignition switched? If so, I am willing to cut that harness to extract the one wire I need...
  16. There is no economy in replacing your wheels. If that is your goal, skip it. As for looks. 16/18, both look really fluffy on an old truck. Can't really imagine throwing money at it for looks. That leaves 2 options. 1) find something used that you can sell for what you pay, 2) run what you got for rims and skip the 35's. For efficiency and how you drive it is going to be hard to knock the stock size.
  17. Fuck the Jets
  18. mi mi mi mi
  19. Sure looks like CAN bus. http://www.canbushack.com/blog/index.php?title=let-s-chime-in-gm-29-bit-can-chime-control&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 That being said, now I am also curious if not having anything to accept the CAN Bus commands will cause any faults? I'd love a cheap hack....
  20. I have no headunit, no need for a $50 harness but after having no chimes for the first time today I realized this means no blinker noise or low gas warning. I'd like to restore that, but it would be the ONLY output I'd need from the harness making me not want to buy one. Of course, if the signal is only over the CAN bus and has no analog counterpart it'll cost me something, but was curious if anyone has rednecked a good solution? And yes, I'll still have a stereo in the Escalade (2010) but it'll be a carputer and no headunit.
  21. You best bet will be check the manufactures site for accurate dimensions due to the way they convert for aspect ratio numbers. Section width will change based on rim width, so keep that in mind if your concerned about width.I remember you talking about tires less than a year ago. Did you go through that set this quick? No, that's just when I started to realize I needed them. These tires have 63000 on them and would go longer if I was able to rotate them more frequently. (One wore out faster than the other)What size is your ideal? In normal people sizes 35x10.5-11x16 but no one makes that. that's because those are marshmallows. Are you stuck on 16" wheels or why the funky size?

Bass is super easy the front stage is what is hard. I'd spend more on the fronts thanthe rears

Since you are asking me personally what I'd do I can answer. I'd never, ever, ever build a box for demos. I build a box to play music for me in the drivers seat. Could care less about anyone else and what they think of my system. If it satisfies me that is great. Now more importantly, in order to do this I'd model what I want and then build based on what that tells me. Of course I'd also do this WAY before buying anything. I despise bloated bass. Not that I don't like bass, but being a bass & guitar that part should be obvious. I want it to accurately reproduce the recordings I listen to and nothing more. And if I drove a QX56 there is no way in hell I'd ever recommend a 4th order BP. No reason I can think of that it would make sense for.

And there are other web forums filled with morons building bandpass enclosures for all the wrong reasons. They have power like your friend and the results are loud, but could be way better if they had a rudimentary understanding of audio. Pretty much more than 90% of BP designs are fucked up bad on car audio forums. Maybe higher. By fucked up I mean a pointless waste of wood. It is also obvious who they are as they call BP enclosures 4th orders. A standard ported box is also a 4th order. Sort of tells us who has been leading you. Beware what you think you know from where that is as most of it is wrong.
