  1. I thought you normally liked single male girl trannies
  2. I think black rims are done. 5 years ago perhaps but today, meh. My bigger concern with that car though is that is shows the classic signs of someone who cares more about impressing someone than enjoying a car. The mods are somewhat tasteless and I'd expect that mechanically that car has been treated poorly. The ad reeks of a sloppy owner as well. Doesn't help that pictures were taken in an industrial park. I'd ask for service records first. If they aren't complete and the dude cut corners I would NOT want that car.
  3. Struggling? I left for the weekend. Didn't even look at the truck. I will google that. According to this: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71464 I should be able to just pull the box.

The trade-offs are nasty. As a design a BP surely has a place but is BY FAR the most misused alignment in car audio. Anyone whoever has built one with modelling is pretty much retarded.
  5. Thanks. My dumb ass just put the console back in. Getting to the back side of the rear cig lighter however was not obvious. That one is switched. Normal lighter isn't which is EASY to get to.
  6. I have no harness, don't want to buy one, and need an ignition on +12v. Any idea where I can find one on my truck?
  7. mi mi mi mi
  8. I can't find the post of yours I accidentally deleted. Thought all deletes went to a thread... Also didn't realize delete works without confirmation now. Was trying to quote and hit the delete key.
  9. Either way, I would love to go. Come here in June, 4 day festival at an old, partly ruined, castle. No shit, what is it called? Electric CastleLook it up, it's going to be awesome. Prodigy, The Glitch Mob, Sub Focus, Netsky and many more. toJust prodigy alone would be awesome. I felt way in 1993 but not really much sense

You mean bandpass? That wouldn't be optimizing anything other than the lack of a reasonable frequency response. If anyone offers you a ratiohey are an idiot...
  11. 1.25" would be ideal. (I think) Could go outside and remeasure, but I'm pretty much in bed.
  12. Or any HPDE for that matter.
  13. I don't feel like making dust nor paint.
  14. Anyone have a great local spot to buy thick cutting board at?
  15. Not paying $400 for the HPTuners one either, lol. Guess I'll drive by Oreilly on Monday and look at all codes and reset it. Drive around for and check again. Then pull the plugs off the VCIM and see again.
  16. My stupid code reader took a shit too. I also just made a random assumption that if I have no amp or headunit that hitting the +vol button on the steering wheel will just send a CAN bus signal that nothing receives. If it is exclusive and deterministic requiring confirmation then I'm screwed. That however would be an idiotic design from an engineering perspective. Having something fail is one thing, having it jam itself with any fault potentially then effecting something else dumb. It is GM though.
  17. All vehicles without share the Onstar. Not sure how it would give me warning messages now anyways as there is nothing connected to play audio. Sure hope yanking the stock amp doesn't set off any dumb alarm. Imagine that would give some people shit fits though...or maybe they are too lazy to use the stock spot as an amp rack.
  18. CAN bus by definition would mean that each process that is added has its own controller. Economies of scale say combine things that get added in a "package" into one container. The bummer is of course in 2010 that bluetooth became standard. In 2008, it was an option however. VCIM module "looks" the same. Mine will make an older non-bluetooth truck a bluetooth truck. Has some value to someone else, lol. I just don't want faults.
  19. This is one of the replies in the bottom....but I don't believe it. "No you can't just remove the box. It'll set codes for abs, airbag, traction, etc. They've integrated a lot of things into that box. I think it's more communication based but without the box the truck sets lots of codes and doesn't operate normally. I tried this method already. Good luck."
  20. I also assume (perhaps incorrectly) that the key presses on the steering wheel that currently activate the bluetooth and such are in that brain. I'd like them to not respond as I want those to do something else. No way to tell now since I gutted the rest of the shit out so I won't get sounds or anything now anyways.
  21. Interesting, finally got time to watch it. The whole box he has there I want to take out and sell with the Bose system. It is the handsfree as well which I won't use so it has no value to me and is nearly identical in size to my HD radio tuner which I'd like to plop in its place.
  22. For 10 hours
  23. Seth - any idea if my truck will complain if I take out the brain? I gutted the rest of the stereo today and figure that won't do anything for me so I'd yank it and use the space for something else if I could. if you just yank it does it throw a code? I pulled the onstar unit out of my trunk without considering any problems. Got lucky i guess. have no way of telling ATM which is why I asked. I didn't know what the part was until disassembly
  24. expect the mods to cost more than the car lol
  25. anything is possible if you ahit money. If you don't an Ls conversion is our only hope
