Tons of good 7" drivers. Budget, mounting depth, processing, tweeter, active cross over experience all play a role in which one would be a good choice for you. Personally I'd take a Pio 80/88prs over the Clarion ANY day of the week. In particular for a beginner..and not because the auto tune works that is flat out useless but it is very straightforward to use. Neither is truly ultra flexible allowing the purchase of any driver, but depending on how long before you change things up that may not matter.

And yeah, the Jackson is sweet. WAY easier to tap on as well. Didn't realize how much easier Eruption/Hot For Teacher and such would be. I actually get good tone now! Of course, I need my fingers to speed up as I can't play them to speed yet.

The Seymour Duncan's are a huge improvement, the actual Floyd Rose has a whammy bar that doesn't piss me off, and the sustain rocks.Playability is improved as well. My tone is tighter, fingerings better, harmonics more natural and less muted and the detail is better across the strings. Looks like she plays like a raped ape. Just shocked that is the Floyd Rose, as I had not seen a chrome one. Great snag Sean!!!! J List price as configured is well above $4k. Definitely a real Rose. Not sure the real Rose is as good as the Schaller though. Mostly in the threads. I went back and forth on the chrome. Configured nearly exactly this guitar at the Custom Shop...but obviously wouldn't spend that on an axe. Decided the chrome looked the best with the MOP and frets. Black is too boring on the transparent blue body.

Makes zero sense in fact. Can easily pick 2 tweeters that would over power 8 mids...but if you need 8 mids you picked the wrong mids. Absolute thunder fuck of an idea.

The safest and easiest compromise is to mimic what car audio has done for years. Grab a 7" driver and a real tweeter and make them work. When you don't like that or can describe what you'd improve about it then upgrade. This makes the process more expensive though as it is one more iteration. That being said, in your case you seem to not be able to describe what you want to do so it may be the only real solution.
