Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Stairs don't require enduro. Hardtails are fine. I ride both up and down stairs, lol. Fat bike ftw on the up portion. Used to be able to climb big staircases on a standard bike, but not so sure I can do that anymore.

Hmmm, I posted this hours ago...I thought. If you ride this stuff, get the Enduro otherwise I wouldn't. It is only 2 hours away

Might have to just order a frame and buy a donor bike for parts

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I am dying to see what a 24+" top tube on a bmx bike looks like...with 12" bars. Was really hoping I could find one in town.

Nearly 2.5 acres of woods so some space, but obviously rather urban

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Doing it through my neighbors with mine, perhaps even a third. Won't be in the front, but maybe I'll add a loop as it is a wicked drop and climb.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I'd rather take an 8' drop on my Fat bike, not a bmx lol

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Ha, I hadn't quite planned on a 12'er. A couple 3's for sure though. Have to teach my boys how to fly!

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Matt did you run into any shops that were loaded up with BMX bikes? Got a wild hair up my ass yo make a bmx track in the back yard for the boys and will need a bike myself. I know what size they need but want to test ride some for me lol

Basketballs they will feel like over inflated

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Shock tuning has more of an effect than orientation. Obviously geometry could but they generally have a similar response from linear unless truly downhill

Don't you Bob like crazy then? Bobbing makes it really hard to hook up in a corner....

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
These landed yesterday: So yeah, I want more performance than necessary as well. Difference being i don't have to pedal the quad. Obviously those came in pairs but I didn't completely unbox.

Matt - maybe you like the Enduro because it is setup for more travel and more bottoming resistance. The bottoming resistance would feel better if they didn't manage to set the bike up for your weight. If you grab something off the show room floor and don't adjust the seat, the bars, and shocks I am sure it will suck. Only harping on this because I hate the feel of Enduro in the stuff we have to ride. I will add that I have had more time on downhill frames than Enduro and realize of course they E frame removes some of the bobbing and spasmatic frame response during pedaling that you have with a downhill bike. Out of curiosity are you a masher or a spinner? ie, what is your normal pedaling cadence?

Bikes drop as bad if not worsr than cars. New never...unless you need a really weird size

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
2k is a stupid amount to spend on a new bike. If you rode 2k fat bikes I understand the problem...

That is your price range. Just has to be 5 years old

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
The Enduro geometry is really confusing to me. I understand perhaps an aggressive cross country Geo but the Enduro not at all. Perhaps you are much more prone to acting like Superman than I am. I don't jump or drop more than 6-8' anymore which totally defeats rear suspension for me. I like the comfort but the power hogging and how much feel it pulls off the rear I don't like. I have a box racing background though and expect my bike to do exactly what my body tells it to. Suspension takes that away. Without front susp though my wrists get tired and I lose confidence in chutter like you get over tree limbs in corners.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Across all terrain in MN I am slower with rear suspension. The part I didn't realize is that I also have less fun. I didn't realize you were all torso. That will up the frame size as you size the top tube not the rest. I am all legs. You may be able to ride my bike. It will put all fat bikes to shame you have sat on.

$2k is a terrible new bike budget. Buys one hell of a used machine though. Personal I would make sure I knew which bike fit the best and then start shopping geometries and get something close in a hard tail with plus tires and ride it. If you don't ride it, sell it next year. No matter what you buy you will either not ride it or if you do you will learn a ton on what you don't like and if you buy new kiss 60% of your cash good bye.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Did the Uzzi fit you perfect? ...or were you just excited because it soaked up every fucking thing.
-
Welcome to the IHoP v.2
A 1980 hardtail bmx bike is 2-3 times the bike you need for what you describe. First question I have is why rear suspension? I am always excited by the idea myself, but every time I ride one I realize it mutes part of what I love on a bike. ...anyone that put you on an XL is on crack.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Congrats and condolences Aaron. Just asked me to take a 2nd team as my youngest is starting to travel now as well. Trying to convince them to hire a coach for my other son's travel team as coaching 2 travel teams doesn't seem possible. I miss it and hate it when I travel.

twom 8in subs and one 12in omne box probems
You need to throw the box away. Choose either the 12 or the 8's and move forward. It is terrible to mix subs of different types when they are in their own box and significantly worse to mix them together.
