  1. 5 minutes isn't all that long, lol. Ported/sealed really not much difference in effort. Learning to do it by hand will really help your understanding. Only reason to use software ever is for seeing response changes
  2. Team is step 1 in ANY success story
  3. Happy Bday Mang!!
  4. I couldn't think of a more awful place to design an enclosure. Would be easier, faster, and more accurate to do by hand IMO.
  5. Most posts like this get ignored as the OP's usually have no comprehension of what they are doing meaning it is destined for failure no matter the comments. To get around this it is a rather good idea to post why and what you have planned so far and to gain feedback.
  6. The others are doing rather well, just not that well.
  7. Doesn't stop then either, that is just what it takes to get to the income level described with an accounting degree. I am sure it would be possible to do it faster, but that is far from the norm. I have 6 of them in my family, only 1 is "successful".
  8. Problem is those guys take home about $40k and hit a brick wall not much above that.
  9. Try Jan-Dec if you awed willing. My bil is one and pulls in $400k after 15 years of working 70hr a week
  10. I would love some real wool dress socks, but can't find any in my size. Wear a 15 sock as my foot is rather low volume for its length.
  11. Actually width I am fine, but I do go up a shoe size. When shit is already big adding cushion makes it tough. It is damn near impossible to find non-wide 16 or 17 dress shoes though so I stick with skinny socks.
  12. <-wears a B dress shoe in dress socks <-wears a DD dress shoe in hiking socks
  13. birk socks??
  14. Just to be a negative Nancy, I really don't like smart wool socks. They seem to wear out quickly to me. Is there a general care tip for wool to make them last longer? wear shoes, stop walking around in your stockings.
  15. me too. Even if she was a little frumpy I figured it was the college try
  16. Dayton HO would work ported Sealed almost any 12 designed for it on the site should be fine.
  17. Never. Need both, discussion was over my (and others) hiring practices. See post right above this one.
  18. Just to clarify, I was not knocking education. I am a huge proponent. Biggest problem is that most people forget to learn the one thing they were supposed to in college which basically makes it useless. If you don't learn how to learn then don't bother
  19. Indeed, but then each experience will help that person grow. I know we are saying the same thing, just highlighting where I think its critical.
  20. Seth - I guarantee your colleague is right. I consider the person part of the experience. What they can relate out of it is a strong deciding factor. So then this ties education exactly to experience. Those who did, did, those who learned, excelled and that is who I want. The latter are much easier to lead.
  21. Passive components (like the ones you buy in a store) you cannot change the frequencies. It is possible however to use an Active Processor (electronic crossover) before the amplifier and then change anything you like. This is very listening and skill intensive though so generally speaking not recommended as a first foray into car audio. The gains through proper deadening and installation are by far the biggest bang for the buck. Start there and worry a bit less about what comps you use. No matter the budget, it is always better to include the proper deadening and installation. I'd MUCH rather have a set of $40 mids & tweeters installed right than a $250 set installed wrong (ie just screwed into the stock locations). Ought to show you how to budget...
  22. They are the more modern version. Not saying they are worth a shit, I clarified that in my post. On the same note, I am horribly unimpressed with either the CDT or ID stuff. Awful at their price point IMO.
  23. Even in my case. I did an awful lot of Acoustics & Waves as it was my focus. I use this everyday, but even if I hadn't learned it in college I'd know it now.
  24. That thing is the capability to learn, everything else is a useless specific.
