  1. For activities where you are making heat and moving or for sitting still? I'd like something I can use for both. Or a good under layer to wear in addition to the jacket for when I'm sitting. I need something to shovel/work outside in, and something for (for example) sitting in the cold watching my son play football. I can't afford 2 separate jackets unless they are like $100 each. Which one do you want to compromise on?
  2. If they came in talls I would have, too short
  3. None. Not even close. Somehow I either typed wrong or you read that wrong. Thought I said if you weren't stinky...
  4. If you can't layer and you are just driving your car around town a down jacket is the best you can buy. Add a WOOL cap and some kick ass thinsulate gloves and you are golden.
  5. Wool isn't cheap and if you are stinky when you sweat a synthetic works. For sitting still doing nothing down is your best friend. ie, I wear down in the car but a wool/synth/shell mix when I work. You'd probably shit if you saw my snowmobile jacket. It is non-insulated and super breathable. Not quite arc teryx but not far behind. I wear that over a super thin wool long sleeve undershirt and a thin baselayer 200 weight polar fleece. Ultra warm at 70mph and -20F. Sitting still doing nothing though I'd freeze my ass off so I pack another layer in my bag in case the sled shits the bed. Around town I wear a 800 weight Eddie Bauer down jacket. EB makes talls so I am not fucked like with most companies. Their First Ascent stuff makes some of the uber expensive brands blush too.

  7. where you live you don't get winter, you get the dreary bullahit blues. Here we have sun and snow.
  8. Hell, my boat is still in the water and I went swimming less than a week ago. Probably pull it tomorrow or Monday though. Time to transition to the better season.
  9. Same here actually. Peak colors aren't here for another week or so. My yard has leaves on it, but my trees are green. Driving back from up North I found peak, but it was a good 250mi straight North.
  10. No accumulation by me, but if I had no kids I can tell you where I'd be with my trailer right now.
  11. First snow here last night.
  12. Rock on!
  13. Gay friend?
  14. They are SCREAMING for MLV as well. Complete coverage with that, just a bit of CLD on the large expanses. Rap with your knuckles and keep attacking the most resonant spots.
  15. Got lift?
  16. All anyone has to do to prove that is to load ANY two songs into Audacity and look at the levels. The product is so fucking stupid it is absurd.
  17. Couldn't agree more. Was a play on the discussion. Sure it reflects how I and most of the board feels, but it would be a further waste of money on the end here that pads some asshats pockets. Self defeating in that respect.
  18. This, the most fun I have driving is in the E30, it may not be the fastestestest car I own but its definitely the most enjoyable The answer is always Miata. E30 >> Miata
  19. I just want someone to make an open source CAN bus system that will read and send whatever you want. Eventually the HVAC and everything will be run via computer in the Caddy as I don't want to rely on GM anything. Obviously the main brains will stay and wiring but having access to the rest makes me happy. The German integration of 10000 computers is disheartening.
  20. That's what she said. Even with a shit ton of lube it wouldn't fit.
  21. Not sure how to embed that. Redneckery aaaaah yeah

  23. So proud to be a Vikings fan
  24. Don't If you enjoy beers, never buy cheap. Enjoy a good beer, the buzz is better, the hangover is less, and you will appreciate it more. I am currently 4 of these to the wind and bought up the last 5 4 packs that my local store had in stock. Stop at 2, as it is very strong, but enjoy a nice, high dollar, less punishing buzz of a good drink. This is in my top 5. Seriously. It is a fucking gorgeous stout, just fucking brilliant. That was my way of saying I'm buying some <-loves real beer
