  1. He is stating he is at fault, he did twice already. I read that and don't agree. Partially sure, but a better piece wouldn't have failed.
  2. Sorry for the rant, but I really only want to know if anyone has experience with Tmobile coverage. I know Matt's experience...but I don't only travel here. From perusing the maps though it looks like I have to stay on Verizon. To compensate I will probably get a Tmobile line too and use that globally.
  3. I don't care if my bill is $160/mo for me alone. What I am trying to avoid is having to carry a second phone in Asia or having $1000-2000 bills when I go.Then AT&T is your best option. If you're worried about service don't dick around with TMobile (particularly if cost isn't a huge concern) Buy an unlocked phone off-contract. They are readily available and some phones now have dual SIMs. There WILL be places that Verizon has coverage and AT&T doesn't. There WILL be places where AT&T has coverage and Verizon doesn't. One thing for sure, using Verizon overseas will be a bigger hassle than a GSM based phone. MK - AT&T isn't an option. Coverage is worse than Verizon and the cost overseas is absurd along with super shitty coverage. None of the unlocked phones here have dual SIM's. The dual SIM phones are available in Asia. Need Sprint or Tmobile to use them... Tmobile has UNLIMITED global data included. To put things in perspective, one of my employees spent 2 weeks in Malaysia. We had a global plan that covered data...except in Malaysia. His phone bill for 2 weeks was over $10k. $20/mb is really hard to swallow and you NEED data overseas. The only question here is if Tmobile is acceptable in the US. It is BY FAR the best solution overseas. Add to that I will never do business with Cingular again. When those fuckers bought AT&T they ruined the best network and more importantly best support team there was. Those fuckers can eat shit and die. And again, I could give a SHIT about local costs as they are inconsequential in their differences.
  4. If it burned up either you are at fault or the amp is trash. Think carefully on that one.
  5. Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
  6. Some facts: 1) 4 times is NOT acceptable. I've had some amps since 1990 that have NEVER been repaired. 2) CEA means jack 3) SMD couldn't prove shit. What he used to do so was a joke. As with all the electronic nonsense he offers it is pointless. If you need a budget amp, buy a good one used.
  7. Everything about the build you've described so far is setup for failure. Listen to SSH. Seriously.
  8. I am not so good with slow
  9. This year I should actually be able to. Finally have two working sleds. Suspension will be a bit soft for you on the ProR, but the IQr should laugh right back at you.
  10. Wasn't knocking the photo, just describing exactly what made me put down my 50mm for non artistic shots. It is a very hard lens to shoot people with when run wide open.
  11. Try again. Does the opposite. Narrow range, in fact they are passed in a band. Any other reason? 4th orders have two narrow ranges. And if you build it right you can get a bigger range of frequencies. Regular ported boxes are a lot easier to design and get right. And as I stated, it will NOT be a better range of frequencies. I understand BP frequency response, the OP obviously does not. It isn't about easier and getting it right, it is about being useful. Generally speaking that alignment offers no benefit and a ton of negatives. BP enclosures do not have an advantage over a normal ported enclosure in that way. Not unless you want a really narrow bandwidth, but that would be stupid.
  12. The Canon's is pretty instantaneous. I do feel the pic above IF it could be shot with the same shutter speed would be better with a higher stop. The cigar 'should' be in focus to me. I realize you have to then decide where your focal point is and go from there to get most of it in, but the DOF is too short for that shot IMO. I am starting to see why you like it though and I don't as much. Didn't understand our differences before.

  14. How is the rural coverage around here? That could be better. In the twin cities it's a god, in the boonies, it's not as epic. My concern is on snowmobile trips...
  15. Confused Matt is confused.Sorry, posting from phone IS - stabilization Nope. But pics like this wouldn't have been possible with IS as a replacement for the wide aperture. In my case I just question how much better. ie, 2.8 with IS (3-4 stops better) would mean in low light my f/2.8 IS is as good as my 1.4 without IS. When you are in situations where you are fighting shutter times IS is super helpful. I haven't tried both but have taken handheld shots with only a fire as a light source. Why is the cigar out of focus?
  16. I had a horrible experience with them, but this was way back in '01.Had them 4 years ago myself. Didn't work in ohio at all. Check the coverage maps. They are pretty accurate these days. The coverage In required made TMobile a no-go for me. I've been told its great if you never leave the big cities. Verizon shows theirs working in TONS of places it doesn't work at all. Including a few blocks from my house. Aargh.

  21. Anyone here have tmobile and good things to say
  22. Does the 1.2 have is
  23. Hmm night shots
  24. My problem with the slower lenses and adjustable stops are that the image quality on all of them blow donkey in comparison. They never focus for shit and you miss too many shots. I've tried a bunch of 3.5-5.6 lenses and even ones with an L aren't worth using IMO. Doesn't mean you can't grab a great shot with a piece of shit cell phone, but it is SO MUCH easier to get what you are after with glass that responds right. For those reasons though I don't see any benefit in the 1.2/1.4 50mm as compared to the L glass 2.8's. For DOF of course they can be huge.
  25. In reality with kids you don't get to set the F stop as you have to choose the shutter speed. I regularly do both, but if you aren't uber aware all the time that means you just missed the shot. You have NO time to plan as they are not planned in their actions. Once they are 8 or so perhaps, but it is the expressions they naturally give that you want to catch, not the cheesy smiles they give when they try.
