  1. Is this the same if you change seats? Did you determine this listening to each independently? Has this helped you determine what about them you want to make better? Remember you will trade off frequency response for output. I can guess what I think you want, but you telling us is better
  2. what would you put a full set of Escalade brakes on CL for?
  3. I'm tempted to do more of the car. But I think I'll just finish the wheel wells and do the doors. I'm wondering if just doing the well inside the quarter panel will be enough. Or if I should try to do more. The never ending question starts. Lowering your noise floor is addictive and does more for your stereo than anything else.
  4. Natural selection failed so far
  5. Nice work. Stock Pontiac batting makes me laugh, what you are doing is going to be huge
  6. My modded SHO was white on white

Strapping isn't high end. Has nothing to do with it. And yet another idiot manager. Quit. Everyone at your store/company is an idiot. Can't scope it clean either, lol.
  8. Buckle up
  9. 2 2x4 miniDSP's are about the same price...and the miniDSP software is EASY. By far the easiest processing software I've ever seen in fact. The only downfalls I see at all with the minidsp solution is lack of an enclosure and potentially not enough voltage capability. Neither affect me at all. The other of course is that a PC is even more flexible processing wise, but for what you need to do they are still pretty capable. And seriously, with just a wee bit of tweaking time you'll never mix the Bravox.

Ha, of course. He works at a VERY confused store. Most definitely. It isn't a good idea, nor will doubling the power be audible anyways. So what, 1000w or 800w is NO audible difference, not even close. And they shouldn't. Can't imagine why a mainstream amplifier company would do that. Talk about a support nightmare. So many idiots that have no place in doing it try and that just leads to a bad rap for the manufacturer. Glad Kicker isn't that dumb.
  11. If she can't spend 20 seconds with a tape measure then fuck it.
  12. 6-7" is what fits nicely in your truck. Any larger and you can't mate with a tweeter
  13. If you get any ford with sync in it, think hard about about putting a system in it unless it is the sony upgrade with a sub output. Ran into that with a friends focus. I wouldn't pay for that as I'd want to yank it out anywayz I agree after that experience. I don't want or need any of the gadgetry. I just want a car to drive. They can keep their damn navigation, touch screen, back up camera, "audiophile" system bullshit. All I need is air/heat, cruise, and power windows. A -> B. No, it has to be more than that. I prefer a true driving experience though that is not too common anymore more. I want a NEW, pure mechanical car, but everything has electronics that affect the driving experience. I am just trying to get as minimalist as possible. sounds like you need a pony car again but then it won't be new
  14. Seems a bit expensive to me. I just paid $120 for a 5 channel Soundstream that is only slightly longer. way expensive I am not buying any just want
  15. If you get any ford with sync in it, think hard about about putting a system in it unless it is the sony upgrade with a sub output. Ran into that with a friends focus. I gave up on loud 20 years ago....always think I am ok with stock but then when it sounds like Shit it changes my mind again I probably won't touch the radio at all. I'm about out of the audio phase. I still love loud music, but I just don't have the passion for it any longer. The Focus will be just to drive.

  17. my neighbors have triplets and on their license plate it says team haugen
  18. Exactly... My bad if my terminology was wrong. not your fault there are a bunch of idiots and huge stupidity on all other car audio forums
  19. Good. My statement was to help reinforce that. It is not a good idea and anyone who has taken that approach is confused about audio. Read the terms and conditions of the site. We don't even allow the term it is so bad. And you are flat out wrong. An SPL setup is made to play ONE note as loud as possible and SQ the opposite. *Do note I never said EVER that something can't sound good and get loud. At the same time I highly, highly, highly doubt you are at all interested in an SQ system. "Sounding good" is not the goal of an SQ system just as "being loud" is not the goal of an SPL. You'll get a lot farther in actually understanding what you are doing if you don't try to use terminology but instead describe your goals.
  20. I keep my pi in a case too
  21. Why buy the PPI when you can buy the source. Just a pair of miniDSP's in a box. My concern is if PPI limited the software... If you do that though, buying a comp set would be dumb as well as there is PLENTY of processing to do everything active. Then even some mediocre drivers and you can outperform the Bravox you wanted to put in originally.
  22. Can't build a box without dimensions. Only takes a few minutes to measure. Go
  23. And wow was Costa Rica resilient
  24. Really bummed the Dutch don't have "Holland" on their jerseys this year. Wanted to buy a whole set for the family.
  25. You get ZERO surround from rear fill unless of course you are listening to movies or have a very odd 5.1 encoded audio collection. They sound like utter horseshit and give you sensitivity where you don't need it. MLV needs to cover the whole area and be sealed. If that matt does that why remove it? There is NOTHING special about MLV other than outside of lead it is about as dense as any sheet product. Stopping sound transmission is done with mass, so if it is really heavy you are golden. No you are not. Q&L are complete opposites, putting them together in a word is dumb. And there is NEVER a Q and multiple mids &/or Supertweets. Not even close. As for the front/rear you may not have as much output firing forward, but with eq can end up with a better result. Luckily the bass portion of an install is BY FAR the easy portion.
