Going to buy an Intel NUC most likely for the car pc. So small it'll fit behind the screen. Takes DDR3L ram. Last pc I built I read it was better to run a 2x4gb kit than an 8gb single stick. Is this still a reality or was that related to the motherboard I had at the time?

Do yourself a favor and torment your ears by listenting to your tweeters alone on a gamut of songs that are a good approximation of your listening. It is SO MUCH easier to hear stress on a single driver. ANd no, don't listen to the whole song it sounds so fucking bad without the rest it is unbelievable.
