  1. Can't. 7" is too small. Should sell my Timur'd Nexus.
  2. http://uk.farnell.com/element14/lcd8000-97c/9-7inch-lcd-display-module-am3359/dp/2367802 Other webpages have shit on it.

  4. Shit like this drives me nuts. WTF is LVDS. Aargh. mini-HDMI to LVDS. I see the boards that support it and realize what they do, but can I just plug the HDMI in and get a USB for the touch off of it?
  5. Bummer is that the bottom of the bezel is 7 1/8" top 7 3/4" and a long 9". 10" 16:9 are skinny, 12" are the right width or so and too long and if I do this I want bigger than an 8. One cure is building it out, but this sort of looks like shit IMO. I haven't yanked the dash yet to really see what is there, but am trying to picture options for 3 gauges and the screen. Once I figure it out I can order some FI.
  6. I have fond memories of Chile. Where we honeymooned.
  7. Only a few challenges. GPS & Phone integration. I just determined to have an OBD/Tuner solution I could give up Nav or compromise and f I have to buy a parrot so be it. Other difficulty is the lack of a real monitor. Finding a 10-12" IPS Capacitive embeddable display isn't exactly easy.
  8. I just want some semblance of memory for what I was listening to. I know with "front ends" you can do that, but they are all annoying and Win8 is pretty much a front end on its own. Means I have to use the metro launch screen, but oh well.
  9. http://www.mini-box.com/M2-ATX-160w-Intelligent-Automotive-DC-DC-Power-Supply seems you can set that kind of functionality with this and maybe settings change in windows. ignition on - pc boots up, ignition off - pc hibernates or sleeps or whatever. Thanks Brendan. I got distracted by penalty kicks and a run to the store. Awesome. That is perfect. I have too much music to not use playlists...although mine are more don't playlists. Appreciate the input Teo.
  10. And here come penalty kicks
  11. WOn't hibernate on power off though. ie, pull the power cord... Has to be some way to trigger that.
  12. Either way, go Chile
  13. Hope this doesn't go to penalty kicks
  14. Bummed a bit as I hate the front end options available, but love the ANdroid front end. Aargh. I need a PC though as tuning software in dash is a must. If the '12 Nexus 7 would power an external monitor I'd run both, lol.
  15. Not trying to be a smart ass or anything but the description says: "You can shorten system boot-up time to 2-seconds* for a smoother user experience under Windows 8, and even previous versions of Windows." So I'd say around 2 seconds. You could probably use the sleep / stand by function to shave off a little more time but more importantly your stuff would still be open from the last time you shut it off. They say that about their BIOS meaning you may need a faster mobo/pc or the like. That is how I found it first, but If it power cycles it'll be hard to resume...or it'll kill my battery? Thinking headunit for the Esky... hibernate would work. Hibernate on the power being pulled? I'd need some delay circuit? mp3car is such a fucking fuck show you can't find donkey dick there. Frustrating.
  16. I am using AIMP3 and it has the option to start the last played song on start. I am using AIMP3 and it has the option to start the last played song on start. Including playlist?
  17. Everytime I go on vacation all sorts of shit comes in. Generally a good thing
  18. Current laptop can't live in my car. I'd rather build a dedicated machine.

  20. And any idea how to force resume what music was playing when it shut off?
  21. How fast you think I can make this boot into Windows with a rippin' SSD. Would run WIndows 8. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/J1900IC/
  22. Hey I told you not to show my wife my euro car
  23. Thanks Mr. Obvious. j/k. I actually find it sort of funny. I've checked them on cars when I've bought them but never once thought about it on a trailer. Guess I can't trust anyone, lol.
  24. Don't sell yourself short
  25. Umm, yeah. Got gas in the boat. Heard a little noise from the rear and saw my brake cable dancing. Think the caliper probably needs bolts...
