  1. In Europe they love the Nokian's. I haven't had a bad set actually including el cheapo Korean ones.
  2. ALWAYS listen to every driver independently. It is a great learning experience.
  3. Realize that then you will only get responses of what people bought. Not like people try 10 sets of components like you do ice cream. Go listen first, really.
  4. CEA is a fucking joke, useless. Reliability can't really be stated until something is 20 years old, in particular a budget brand Pretty small sample size. If you are killing RF's there was an installation problem. Perhaps not using such an ultimatum in the response would be good then. Personally if you gave me a Hifonics I wouldn't run it, doesn't mean they didn't "work" in your application. And I am a huge watt is a watt guy, not worth overpaying for no reason.
  5. WTF, we haven't had snow in a month
  6. Silk is not normally harsh... Is there an Lpad on the crossover (ie can you lower the level)? Have you tried that? Curious what you mean by harsh as well and at what level the harshness occurs (ie all volume settings or just wang away).
  7. Oh, and when you type in black no one can read it. 90% of the mods and techies here use a black background...
  8. Perhaps I need a food analogy for you. What is your favorite ice cream? Why is it your favorite? What about others don't make them as good to you? Now realize the same questions apply to the front stage. Everything is personal. Sounding "cheap" isn't a descriptor as everyone has a different subjective response to cheap. If you described lacking detail in certain frequency ranges, or having a speaker that makes the s's too long, or some specifics it would allow us to help more. My actual real guess in ALL the above installations is that none were even close to optimized and had they been you'd have a hugely different experience. Hopefully this helps with 2 things. The first being why you should go out and listen and of course the 2nd in helping you package information that will allow us to help you. At this point, the best advice we could give is to buy a used set, something cheaper, and spend more time and money on the install and then decide what could be better about them. Oh, I left subs out of this whole equation since that portion of the audio install is uber easy.
  9. Again, wonder about the installation. I really don't het all the fascination with shit that is overpriced. It foregos themost important portion - the install.
  10. No interest in doing cocaine, but I think doing a cocaine angel would be kinda fun. If I was some old billionaire it might happen.better off deadHey man, YOLOYou are obviously too young to catch the reference. Completely over my head skyscraper.literally the phrase is from the movie better off dead which is cusacks best movie btw . Line is by buger from revenge of the nerds lol
  11. If shit wears out in 3-5 years it is absolute garbage. I am still running an amplifier I bought new in 1991...and it isn't the oldest one I use atm either.
  12. bird pussy?
  13. meh. Focus on the install not the equipment and the results will be better. Some people just have stupid money though so...
  14. SHIT!
  15. No interest in doing cocaine, but I think doing a cocaine angel would be kinda fun. If I was some old billionaire it might happen.better off dead Hey man, YOLO You are obviously too young to catch the reference.
  16. You don't want SQ. Read the terms and conditions of the site it will clear up the confusion for you there. You are near the polar opposite. Buying a component set that can "take" 180w is akin to buying a car that can run on 93 octane. Yep, pretty pointless. In the past you've ran MB Quarts, Pioneer and Rockford. Now that is a step. Why did you change from one to the other and what did you gain? 60lbs is a HUGE fucking waste. Go onto SDS and read about proper deadening. Deadener quantity can be VERY small and in some regards is the least important part of treating your car. Critical sure, but the easiest to do right.
  17. That'd be a huge waste of time. Clamp tests are as pointless as subjective reviews. Sometimes company's quality deteriorates over time; is this an example with their amps? Or are their amps still really good? This amp is around a year old. Any decent amp should be fine for decades+
  18. You aren't blind a/b testing. No way, no how you are going to have a real result. Absolutely silly to even post anything regarding this. Proven fact that whichever setup that yields you more gain you will perceive as better. Nothing else. Classic trick that people have utilized in stereo demo's in stores for decades. Of course, your old install was so jacked that it is possible you've "fixed" something, but don't credit the amp.

  20. If you go to another site and they start to recommend things, ignore that site. You've given us NO personal background of audio likes to apply any logical sense to an answer. Sort of like going to a car dealer and saying, What car is the best? In this case you forgot to list 2 door, sports coupe, minivan,....
  21. Sugar pills can make you hallucinate too. The fuses are supposed to be near the source (ie battery), time to re-fuse... *I so wanted to just type refuse
  22. It's everywhere. Have YOU any IDEA what the street value of this mountain is?
  23. I really want this to be my quote for my work email.
  24. $5/lb is UBER cheap
  25. Go LISTEN to some and tell us what you like and don't like about sets. Otherwise it is truly pointless.
