To think I did that cabinets and counter tops back in 2000 for a total cost of $1300.00 and just to replace the cabinets today I would be right around $5200.00 plus $2000.00 for the quartz top. I bought Maple Cabinets in my old house from Home Depot. Paid around $4k for them. Uppers and lower for almost 30 linear feet. Your bid on that is HIGH. The quartz is what it is, fucking expensive

You are forgetting acoustics my friend.The post wasn't meant to be entirely technical. But touche. 1w SPL means nothing, though, since all subs react differently to varying amounts of power. Umm, wrong. It means exactly what it is, efficiency is related to output per watt. Doesn't mean manufacturers measure it appropriately for the task at hand. Todd, the answer is really rather simple. Box size & cheap power. PA drivers need a ton of space and while they run with less power, power is cheap so why waste all the space. I have an awesome car audio errr pro audio driver in my basement. The first "beast" subs were pro audio subs that were slightly massaged for car audio applications, but this is when a 1000w amp was rare so you just dealt with the needed box size since it was the best choice.

It's frustrating to have mad output on all the notes I hear the least in my music That is only 2 bands where you need them to figure things out. His doesn't follow 1/3 and even that wouldn't be enough. Haven't seen anything in the car audio world but 1, 1/2, and 1/3 octave EQ's. Do they even exist? Any pc based solution gives you whatever you want. Same with a miniDSP and a bunch of other proc's. Normally in car audio flexibility follows parametric eq's and not graphic but by nature that is logical.
