  1. Ya, it thumbs Stevie Ray Vaughn too.
  2. Stock passives are still there but they've been massively massaged electronically to improve things a bunch.
  3. IMO the system sounds like ass, but that isn't the subs fault.
  4. At levels that make most normal folk say it's the best sounding stereo they've ever heard
  5. Of course, being able to run 4+ hours on battery doesn't suck atm either.
  6. I'm tempted to up the power on the Xcon as well, lol
  7. I had a convo with a man once, who shall remain nameless, but I wanted to stay passive in lieu of spending the money on an active processor. He told me he'd need my car for two weeks and about a grand for the components. He then took me to school on designing a proper passive network for the automotive environment and it's futility due to cost and in the end you're left with something marginal at best. Without measurements in situ to build from futility is the right word.
  8. Reveling against all the euro friendly food I cooked this week
  9. Accompanied by 6 beers so far
  10. Boater out for a pizza for lunch.
  11. Of cours ethe judges are "trained" to listen for all the wrong things
  12. Of course the stock hk system in my truck could place in most
  13. And passive off the shelf makes it even worse
  14. Hard to be impressive in a car though
  15. It will all come down to your definition of "being heard" over the subs. If you used my definition then $300 won't cut it, not even close but I've seen others where $50 would have been enough. In general to truly keep up, you will need to spend more $$ on your front stage than your subwoofers. Cone area helps make them win in this regard. Most people don't really care about that though and just want to hear words or what not.
  16. I'm not really an earbud kinda guy, but my wife uses the Skullcandy 50/50s. They really aren't bad for 50 bucks. Hey, that's what I bought for $5. Actually I think it was $7.99 but they do sound more than acceptable. I don't find them super comfortable but I am not the littlest guy either.
  17. I have some triple flange hearing protection from Bruel & Kjaer and would agree they rock for sweat. I use them when doing yard work.
  18. They don't design shit btw
  19. $10 says they don't sound any better than the TJM specials
  20. No, was supposed to be there this week but diverted the company to my house. They just left...thank God
  21. Not pants,, they look goofy as hell. I would rather wear a nice pair of Buckle Jeans and dress shoes and nice shirt. I see the dumbest shit. Mofos come in looking for a job with flip flops and socks on. Pants sagging, etc. I just say " no man, we ain't hiring" lmao I personally don't understand suits. I don't know the purpose. Maybe lawyers or govt officials. I do not own a single suit one. Probably never will. wtf, I wear suits all the time. How else do you swim?
  22. I use $5 pieces of shit from TJ Maxx, lol. Sound as good as some SQ competitors vehicles.
  23. Good call. I personally don't understand khaki's. Look worse than jeans IMO and are less comfortable than dress pants.
  24. Time to revisit who you listen to. Since you state "sq wise" as a paramter you are being severely misled. The PWX's are awful for that purpose as are having anything connected in the rear.Others asked budget, goals etc. above which are all necessary to help narrow things down.
  25. One step nicer than the others and you are set. Just keep the shoes/belt on the dressy end as they make the biggest difference.
