Tomorrow is great. I have a meeting with GM from 12-1 but can meet you after if a slightly late lunch is acceptable.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I knew it was gonna happen the second I seen Sean jump into the discussion lol.I was actually rather diligent in my wording to make sure it would come off as helpful as well. They obviously were fishing in their reply. Paint me the bad guy. Those guys are going to fail miserably as business owners though with that attitude. Yikes.yeah, I read that. People do take you differently though. I know you meant well, but people who don't really know you..........that's another story. In particular when they expected and in this case I think even wanted it up front.

More likely that the installer will than you. It can take WEEKS to get the locations nailed.

Definitely a difference. The question is would it be a positive one. I usually use funtac to hold them in place to hear different locations before mounting.

I didn't really understand your question. Your sub will have a low pass You mids a HP & LP Your tweet a HP Setting a different xover for each mid wouldn't make sense as they should be matched in a stereo pair for a stereo install. Mechanical phasing is not a goal. If it was you wouldn't use t/a. For the drivers to mechanically do exactly the same thing would directly mean that the time of arrival for the sound would be determined based on their distance from you. By adding delay to some channels (known as t/a) you alleviate this concern.

I am just trying to find a happy medium where all can enjoy and learn from the site while not negatively effecting the money that pays for it. That is like the search for the holy grail

One other warning. Post setting gains if you change your crossover at all you may have to readjust your gains. Again showing the importance of listening for stress ALL the time.

You can't unless you set it in such a way that on some songs you are WAY over potential. Recordings vary too much for that to be a reality. The best way is to use your ears and CONSTANTLY be listening for stress. I set mine hot so that during a song I can adjust as appropriate. Until your ears are trained well to hear this you should be more conservative. Since you are running active you need to do this first for every set of drivers INDEPENDENTLY. (ie, tweeters, mids, sub). Then you need to blend them together. 95% of the time the limiting driver is the mid so you normally balance to it.

I've thought about it. I have a MUCH more direct route to the engineers and manufacturers than any of the asshats that are doing it. Problem is my ideals are marketable so that means succombing to BS and I have no interest in that.

When you preconceive and opinion it is pretty hard to read anything the other way. In particular when you have pre-chosen your path and end result.

Now I understand how you misread my post. If you look at it again, all I did was state if you were going to use the testing methods you did you should at least quote the uncertainty and appropriate digits. Then I even offered to help you do it. Of course if you expect to be shit on then you'd read that differently which obviously happened. Sorry that what was intended wasn't read that way.

Lots of low ceilings and WTF is with the laminate counter tops? So much for downsizing. Ha, right. There is actually a 2200sq ft guest house on the back side of the garage. It would give me instant babysitters as I could get my parents to move in there. If it weren't for that and the huge potential to make $$ by fixing the houses layout I'd prefer to downsize. In that house though we'd end up with an 1800sq ft Master suite & office with HUGE lake views. The kitchen and great room would be of similar size and the basement walkout/party room to the lake as well. Add the MIL suite and we could live there for a while. From the picture the 'bar' at least needs no work. J The bar will become the Master Bedroom if we buy that house. Bye bye bar. What better place for a bar then the master? You Minnesotans are fuckin odd... What's odd?

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I haven't. Hopefully next week if it's not too hot I'll try to go out. I still need to get a reloader, and start going out a few times a month.I would be out daily if I lived in the desert........ It also would be nice to sell beds there. $$$$$ I was going out pretty often, but it got hot and my class is at night so I don't get up early. More people use beds in AZ than MN? More retiree's.
