  1. Umm, no. Resolution is related to the glass. MP is an absolute number as well.
  2. Good deal. Great game. While the PS3 is capable of BluRay and DVD playback, I don't recommend it as your primary player. These units like to get hot, and longevity may be questionable. I can't complain as I have had my PS3 for years. Ha, primary. I've had a BluRay player now for 4 years. It's never had a BluRay in it and besides Shaun the Sheep & Wallace & Grommit it has hardly had a DVD in it.
  3. But it's so much easier to go looking for the body. Moar megapixels = better right? Initially you said, if you have to go zoom, but are there some prime lenses I should be looking into as well? Mega-pixels are a somewhat useless differentiator. Shitty glass on a 25+MP camera will resolve WORSE than good glass on an 8MP camera. Exactly why it is so fucking stupid to have more than 2MP on a phone camera. No way that lens resolves jack. That and the ONLY things that moar allows are larger prints and/or more cropping. My comment on the prime was you could afford to buy a body and a new 1.8 50mm. Obviously finding a used 1.4 50mm would be even better. I'd still rather get a crappier body and buy one of the lenses I recommended that were zooms though.
  4. High ISO is a gimic
  5. Adjusting white balance on a computer is a gimic
  6. It is not a gimmick at all. If you never leave a studio then fine.
  7. ROFL. That is my experience as well. Obviously not using meth, but not getting stable fucking anything without it. Absolute lifesaver shooting long EVEN in good light. I took some across the bay shots to see how much I could zoom in on bikini's.
  8. Sweet, bring the meth with you when we meet up
  9. What he is telling me is that you will never shoot long at less than 1/200 or so. We live in a tundra so I am pretty sure at some point you'll be pushing that. I mean who doesn't want to extend the golden hour?
  10. A lot of body for that, but I'd buy a lens. You mean that's a good price for the body? I'm trying to get an understanding of what a good deal really is. Also its hard to shop for a lens and all the ones you listed come in around $700 You referenced a budget of around $500. Should net you a $700 lens used with a rather old body. True, I cant even find one though selling for that low currently. May be able to nab a 40D with a 50 1.8 II prime for sub $300 with 10 months left on a square trade warranty. The one in NE err East?
  11. If he is saying with a flash you'll never need well then okay.
  12. Comment: At 200mm, you're gonna be like 25 yards away in order to get a portrait, and the DOF for those parameters is 6.5 feet. That's plenty narrow to get the subject to pop away from the background. For comparison, at f/2.8 the DOF is 4.6 feet at 25 yards. Therefore, the bigger benefit is having IS.
  13. At pure 70mm you can handhold WAY easier than 200mm where you will need a shutter speed that is 3x as fast...unless you have IS in which case it is normalized.
  14. Go to 3min. Just got there myself. 200mm handheld, rofl, not useful.
  15. http://vimeo.com/24050527#
  16. Also IS is HUGE for video. Don't forget to shoot some to compare. And again, cheat and make it worse by zooming.
  17. Make sure you shoot a still target in low light at 200mm. You'll absolutely need it.
  18. If this is the only thread you've read and you no longer feel like searching, then I'd recommend you just run passive. Going to need a lot of motivation to finalize everything and if you are running out already the choice is made by you for you.
  19. What store? Perhaps a good spot for lunch tomorrow? Although my schedule may have just gotten fucked...
  20. Only useful on slow shutters and still targets. Not sure why the AND subject as that makes no sense.

  22. If you google add site:soundsolutionsaudio.com to your search
  23. Speedlight would have saved it completely.
  24. Bottom one is a bit overly processed too, but when trying to fix something that isn't stellar in the first place that happens.
  25. Had I shot this on L glass it'd be just as clear
