  3. Boo.Seeing your kids in the backseat of a cop car.
  4. Or SE Asia or the Middle East. So many things to go see.
  5. Start saving now. Seriously needs to be done. Don't go where your from, go where you are interested in. My priorities are museums, cathedrals, other ingenious architecture, and visiting places that look cool. I'd like to see and live how other parts of the world do. Tons of that in Europe.
  6. I never did a backpacking trip across Europe either. Chile, but that was our honeymoon.
  7. Kiss detail goodbye on landscape shots then. I just shot a ton of pictures that are soft where I wouldn't want them to be.

  9. Picture doesn't show how close we were as I couldn't get an angle then, but this fucker was coming up our ass.
  10. I'd go to a National Camera and walk around the store with your camera (or comparable) and see the reach. I am actually looking at upgrading mine to a zoom (have a nifty 50 1.4) since I am always in the realm of wanting more or less reach. The low stop also while useful indoors kills your FOV which on people sometimes is a detriment. I bought it 2 days before our first son was born. I have pictures of him in the hospital where one eye is in great focus. A ton as well where his ears aren't in focus. Having the speed is nice when you need it, but sometimes versatility wins too. Of course to get a zoom of similar quality you are into $1500+ new.

  12. /\ again, should have bumped the fstop up to 13-16 instead of 11 but it is pretty sharp everywhere anyways.
  13. Of the 2 options you made the right one. You could have had a tripod, but even then, without a remote, it's still not ideal. Used the 50 right? Didn't even bring it. Brought the walkaround 18-270 and the Tokina 11-16. Shot most of the trip with the wide angle. I had to balance shutter speed, lack of light, glare off the water, and of course moving on a boat/train/train/bus. Just wish I had played with developing digital pictures before the trip. I did shoot some pictures by setting the camera on a ledge and such. Then I use a 2 second timer for the shutter since I don't have a remote. For instance, this 15 second exposure. I got better shots of the boat, but the rest have less of the museum which you can see highlights the lack of light. Can't tell in that pic though.

I agree on it all, although I wouldn't trust most people to tell them they have to use their ears. I've seen too many people turn up the gain way too high in combination with maxing out the headunit and they couldn't hear anything wrong with that. I think that's the kind of people that should use it. You can't even talk sense into them by saying they should use a smaller amp if they don't want to break anything, because someone has told them/they have seen they can handle XXXX amount of watts. Obviously the better solution would be that someone did it for them, but that isn't always possible (in their eyes). You can't idiot proof it though. That is the whole crux of the scenario. Ok, you can as I described before: turn a 1k amp into a 200w, a 5k into a 1k, etc, but then why even bother? That is what is safe and no DD-1, oscope or anything else will get anyone else there. Teach them to listen and there is a solution.
  15. Live and learn. I was so concerned over blurring to motion that dof i didn't worry about too much.
  16. Super pissed that I didn't manage the f stop better. Pictures are soft at the edges everywhere
  17. WHY THE FUCK AM I STILL LIVING HERE? My family tree starts within 10mi of the top two pictures.
  18. When I move I'm ready for an upgrade
  19. 50mm is a little tough on a crop sensor, I always want something wider when I use mine. If Sony has a good 35mm you might have to step closer which is possible. Further isn't regularly
  20. You can download Lightroom for a 30 day trial. It'll show on each ones you click on
  21. Hey, wow! Conservative again.
  22. Need to not process the sky so much, but it'll get better in iterations.
  23. Some more of Scandinavia: Norwegian Fjord Shots School in Stockholm - nice trees lol
  24. I can't tell from the phone. Overcast days give that really "flat" light which is often considered ideal. From here it looks fantastic, butmaybe you are looking to bring back something your eye saw that iI ddon't have a frame of reference to. Eye of the beholder and all that. Ha it was really gray. I want to bring back more than just the something I saw.
