1. Closet that used to be laundry room storage: The hidden "shoe" shelves to be installed (have to finish the end trim obviously first) Closet that was originally the coat closet. When I moved in I made it my pantry/microwave closet with some ply. Figured removing the stupid sliding closet doors and putting in some nice shelves was in order: Hole in the back wall you see is going to be a cabinet door for throwing the broom and stuff. Oh, and Kreg Jig ftmfw. The Kreg holes are going to get covered with a small piece of custom trim. Probably just a piece of painted poplar with some sort of slope on the top. Burned a little over 9 sheets of ply and 100' of finish boards. About $950 for all the materials including paint and such.
2. The question of how much fab is acceptable is going to come into play here...
3. Either one of two things is happening. 1) You live in Pennsyltuckey so everyone you speak to is from West Virginia 2) Or you aren't being very clear in what you are asking. Just like making a good thread, having a productive conversation with a builder is necessary.
4. Hmm, if I click the BBCodeMode button it fuxors everything
5. Try it in the morning

6. Okay, screw me trying to fix it. My account is le broke.
7. Just got out of the shower.
My 4 day weekend project. Still needs a bunch of finish work, but I'm happy I got this far. Not shown are a ton of door knobs and a new toilet as well

Had to glue the trim on the poorly clamped side. No way to get a nail gun or screw back there. Won't be seen anyways. Going to yank the other door and paint them both to match the trim and shelves. Shelf faces are still drying on and will be painted later. Old laundry room closet, new mudroom. Still have a new sink and cabinet to build on the other side and a ton of little finish details like make some trim and such, but you get the idea.

Some shelves going into the hidden side for the wives shoes. Lets you see how I "prefinished" the stuff before cut/assembly. All built of birch ply except what is stained/poly'd which is maple.

Sorry they are all shitty cell phone pics, but I didn't take breaks to grab a camera.
8. Woah, wtf?
9. That was bullshit. Really would have been great to eek out one in Chicago.
10. I drove the SRT version within months of release, but don't really remember the dash at all. Even some phone pics help.

12. Ha, I'm about that tall but not that doofy
13. Wild need a little love in overtime.
14. want some powder??
15. You know the street value of that shit?
16. All good advice First things first though are really nailing down the compromises in driver location. Can't shop until then as it'll just get you excited about something that may not really work well which pretty much defeats the purpose of running an active setup.
17. Happy Perky!
18. Not over reacting at all. The FT1 is absolutely TERRIBLE for car audio. Whatever site that you read good reviews on is full of morons. Hell it isn't even a tweeter. It is a SUPER tweeter. Meaning you NEED a dedicated midrange to mate with it AND a midbass. To even come close to using one you MUST have a three way. To make matters worse, it is by far the most efficient driver which means even with a few monster midbasses and midranges you don't even need the output capability of that tweeter. Absolutely butt stupid to use a driver with the extra efficiency (since it is proportional to lack of frequency reach) in a frequency range where you do not need the sensitivity but could REALLY use the frequency extension of another driver. It is truly a horseshit product. There is one place they fit in car audio. In one of those cars that has speakers all over every surface in the car, but that is a whole nother level of moron. Then read the noob posting guidelines and make a decent thread about it. They are in my signature btw. Even your topic title is a fail if you are looking for speakers. Exactly why most of us didn't stop in to visit the thread. An amp is pretty much an amp. The install is what'll make up the difference. STOP searching for drivers. It isn't helping. You MUST define the install FIRST! And if this is the attitude and energy you are putting into it, I couldn't agree more with 140. Get some off the shelf components. You aren't anywhere near close to being ready to run active. It will sound WAY worse than comps with the mechanisms you are using to define your install. WAY.
19. 8 minutes won't even cover installing a single midwoofer
20. You are looking for a job aren't you? Fix it More seriously, government work would be a good target for you.
21. @ tuning DD-1 works fine, if you use it right. Not setting your gains with -15.... It doesn't work for setting gains, fucking stupid device.
22. Really not familiar with your car. Some pics of the mounting location options and what you are willing / not willing to do. I also find your comments on budget funny right now. Whether you pay $50 or $100 for a mid, that is going to be way cheap compared to the install.
23. Happy Birthday, hope you enjoyed the steak frittes.
24. Finish, rofl. It's a house dummy.
