  1. Ford used to do exceptional work on a budget. Wonderful looking and to use for the cost. If they used finer materials they would have whooped ass on the german equivalents. My expy with the EB but wrapped in leather and stitched like a pro. Omg sexy. It would basically be a current Massaratti. (Sp) Maybe even better if they used really nice materials. When I get into a new audi and am impressed with the interior I always get a hint of late 90s ford. And then you get in a 2007 Explorer and get sick to your stomach.

I habe never been in or test drove the ML 63ML dances on the GTS face. WAY faster. Feels as potent in the corners although sloppier and not as car like. Interior is nicer in the Pcar IMO.
  3. I am no expert but I'd bet that the suspension on the DD is not calculated at "one way" travel like most drivers.... Almost all their drivers are 66mm until you get to the 3500 series... I know they're both great companies but what are you going for just loud bass or great low end? And that means absolutely NOTHING. Glad you can do rudimentary math, but perhaps you should apply it. And still, single ported 8 is teh dumb. why don't you guys answer the question in the OP which sub??? you just want to argue some specs and talk about going ported or not LOL Stop being a moron. OP's thread doesn't at all follow the Terms & Conditions of the board he agreed to when joining. If it did, he'd have an answer. The real answer here is though that an 8" driver makes NO SENSE in his application so the correct answer is simple. Neither. Narrowing down which driver he should use requires more information.

Exactly. ANY single spec from the T/S is arbitrarily useless on its own. There is one thing that Xmax does mean though. Conventional drivers with large xmax generally sound worse than small xmax drivers. What's wrong with a single 8 ported?Design a box for one once and you will understand. A while back I built one as an example here. With the port and NO bracing it was larger than the box for a sealed 12" driver. Way worse response too.

  7. And J, I excluded ALL pickup trucks. I have no need for a bed and it takes up a ton of space. The length ruins how they all drive. Exception could be a Sport Trac Adrenalin, but I don't think I can handle the interior or NVH after yesterdays drives.

  15. Sean, I respectfully disagree. The Tundra is far superior in terms of comfort quiet ride and many other thing to the Silverado and the F 150. Which model Tundra have you test driven? I coulda swore you said you have not touched one. The Silverado is a night and day diference and I think if you drove one you would see it.JI drove a Sequoia. Never in the above did I say it wasn't quieter. Just drove like a truck in a non-positive way to me. ie, handled like shitBut how can u even compare a Sequoia to the Tundra??? Again just try the damn thing before completely dismissing it. Just 20 minutes have changed quite a few friends minds already. J Sequoia is a Tundra...in fact better as it has more weight on the rear tires.

  19. First thing you need to blame the midbass problem is the install. If they are just slapped into the factory locations NOTHING will have any midbass.
  20. Curious how you do that.Same way I control my lights, security panel, coffee machine, grill etc. Home automation software and a custom gui. I seriously don't think there is an off the shelf media player worth a shit. WinAMP makes Apple anything look like complete trash, but it still sucks donkey dick.
  21. HD's have had 6 speed manuals and 5 speed autos since the '01 redesign. Half tons were 4 speed and 5 speed manuals from the '99 redesign until the '07 redesign. Those are Allison trannies. GM has 4 or 6 speed auto's. Next year or shortly thereafter you will see an 8LxxE
  22. I didn't think GM had a 5Lxxe tranny? All TBSS are 4L70E. 4 speed time bombs. Not sure what is in the Silvy SS (05) but I'd bet it's a 4l80/90 but still only 4 gears. 2007 Escalade I believe was the first truck to get the 6 speed in the 80e variant.

  24. Test drove a Silverado SS today and a TBSS. The silvy for two reasons. 1 to answer J's question and yes in every aspect it drives better than the Tundra. And 2nd to see if a coil over package on an Escalade would give it any hope. They both have one UBER problem which I forgot how bad I hated in my Silverado. The rubber fucking seals are god awful. Wind noise is butt fuck bad. Seriously not livable. Sucks donkey dick because the 6L is actually reasonably impressive in both. Exhaust note was nice sounding, but droney. Also made me realize I have a problem with 4 speed transmissions. bleh
