  1. While you are checking I'd measure the roll off. ie, have a cd with tracks that play 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 Hz and insure the voltage stays consistent. Of course someone may already know that it is flat, but if I didn't IMO it's faster to measure than to look on the web.
  2. Interesting, I couldn't disagree more. This is the first leftover meal I've eaten in months. I abhor leftovers. Normally they get frozen and my wife eats them at work or when I am traveling. *exception are raw ingredient leftovers like tomatoes cooked down into sauce, stock, etc...
  3. From the man who says chicken is horrible. Not horrible, nasty. And you didn't ask where I got this chicken.
  4. You forgot, "I got great info off the SMD forum"
  5. Booyah. Made some chicken, leek, spinach, phyllo pie last night and man are the leftovers good.
  6. I disagree. A new JL 750 is $500. A used 1000/1 is worth more than half of a new... Until you hit > $200 you are in budget amp territory. Anyone who chooses a new budget amp over a used quality one is confused. $275 is where I'd start.
  7. because you probably would be a good parent. If you were a piece of shit, you'd already have 10.

Definitely just rebadged, I seriously doubt they could afford to tweak anything. Either way, best is subjective. Every driver is different. For the application at hand though a reasonable frequency response with the capability to play low is what is required. The beauty of the compression driver is ridiculous sensitivity compared to non-loaded configurations. Pretty much making other alignments useless paired with it as well. Obviously it'd be great to load up the whole frequency range and not just the mid/tweet, but space is what you run out of then. This is exactly why adding the morel tweet is absurd. Assuming you choose a driver that can play low enough to make with a pro-audio midbass also alleviates the need for two different sized cone drivers as well. To get the same performance with a super tweet you'd have to run a very complicated 4 way front stage instead of just a two way. If there were NO space considerations perhaps you could do it as a three way, but in most cars that isn't happening. At the same time, if you can run the horn confusing the setup with other drivers will not improve the sound or the output, but just muddle the response into a mess that is not fun to try and eq into something worth a shit.
  9. My Gal would shut off if you had it in the reverse accessory but not the forward one. Need to just find which wires are hot when
  10. No lights blinking. When the sensors go bad it blinks.
  11. Dual spring I'm 90% sure. Will triple check in a few.
  12. Anyone a garage door guru? Door goes down about a 1' stops and goes back up. Sensors are fine. If I hit the button to stop it there and then restart it it will go down. It's on the wives door and has been doing it for three weeks. It's worse when it is cold. She's probably getting sick of me not fixing it. Not sure where to start. I double checked the sensors and am "sure" they are okay. Figure that the motor is feeling an extra load somehow but I am not sure where to check for binding. It feels pretty smooth if I detach the whole motor and just open and close it manually. Is slop in the chain or some adjustment on the springs to blame/help?

What do you think they use at loud live shows? If you answer horn loaded compression driver you'd be right.
  14. Mustang!
  15. But Seth, I want to work until I am 80.

And you also thought that supertweeters were a reasonable solution. EQ is your friend. There is no need to supplement. In particular at high volumes you won't even hear up where the "sparkle" is. Stop believing all the brainwash nonsense you've read elsewhere and open your mind and ears. They will thank you later.
  17. Bought mine for 45% off list
  18. Forum is jacked for me too Ryan. Just figured they said wait til after tuesday to bitch
  19. Time to offer 25% under list. No more. Even then I still think you are jumping in WAY too early.
  20. Funny to watch them completely bail on the jumps
  21. I see your dirt and raise you snow Too bad it's some lame junior class. None of the pro's run a cam and share
  22. Maria
  23. Your summers are the antithesis of our winters. I'd MUCH rather be in -10F with snow than in 100F with 95% humidity. Much is very understated.
  24. Ha, I've spent some time in FL in January. Ladies in fur coats while I swim in the ocean. It's funny.

NO Eggy. 8's for midrange are useless since he is running horns. Even worse. As long as you pick the 10's appropriately they will EASILY blend with the horns. Do not mix the horns, morel's and 8's it will absolutely suck and be impossible for you to tune. Every car you've seen done like that is owned by an audio moron. Every forum you've been to that proposes that solution is full of people who don't know anything about audio. Of course if it is just bling you are after carry on. If it is sound, then you need to rethink everything you think you've ever known.
