  1. Yikes. Where ever you read the: stop reading as they are idiots. The real question is why a 4th order BP. Basically there is one valid reason why and a bunch of dumbasses that ignore it and have sub par results but since it is theirs like it and are verbal on forums. In general it is not a good alignment although like everything in audio it has it's place.

RF communication to the car. Key is a button with some smarts usually. In the Benz it fits upside down but won't work upside down. Hmmm.

Not enough outputs. Seems enough: Front (2), Side (2), Center/Sub (2) and Rear (2). It also has ASIO support, which is mandatory. Go for it. In the Passat we used a cheaper, USB Gigabyte sound card since it already had RCA outputs. 3.5mm jacks, not rca jacks. Is what I'm presuming confused Sean at first glance. That and I missed the side somehow. Double whammy

There is nothing special about the klippel. It is a measurement device. Actually somewhat of a crude one at that. As with any measurement tool it isn't using it that helps, but understanding what is measured and then changes made based on what is found.

    Not enough outputs.
  9. Seal them into the door not the door card. WAY better. Used to have an 02
  10. Funny that you guys all want the new amp. I personally would buy the better deal which is always used. Value is the same so weigh the ownership cost. Buying and selling the Alpine in this case should make it cost more than buying and selling the Focal. And yes if you are anything like anyone on here you will eventually sell it. There is no audible benefit for either so the financial is what I'd personally lean on next.

The only reason I am using the epicenter is for a line output converter to tie into the factory system, and I didn't pay anything for it. Sweet price I wouldn't be surprised if that system already has a low level out. I also wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Are there a crapton of wires in the amp or just a few? Gotta be a wiring diagram somewhere...

Ryan, what would you CL a 28 spline 3.89 Ford 9" R&P. I also have the install kit to go with it and a Powertrax Locker. They are BNIB, but 15 years old.

Hey J, hope all is well As for the Epicenter question you already can guess my answer....sell it.
  17. The problem with foam is that it won't isolate the front acoustic wave from the back one making rather nasty inteference. It will kill your midbass. Sound travels terribly on water in particular while on plane. I am normally hugely against multiple drivers, but I've found on boats scattering pairs of drivers all over the boat ends up in a more appealing environment for cruising. Kiss staging and such out the window. With your budget you have to buy drivers, an amplifier and a crossover. That will make the bullet's not fit in the category. In particular when you really need at least a three way front to use them. So that being said, are there more mounting installation locations? On my boat there are 4 pairs of 6.5's. It puts out pretty good although it isn't ridiculous. Oh, sell the 4's you have they won't do anything.

    eww, muddy hands
  22. Jim, I wouldn't use supertweeters for in a boat unless you have some serious processing. That being said, we should start with your mounting locations as those will determine what can work. This is particularly important in a boat.

Those are one in the same.
  24. who cares? Its for a sub if the distortion or power rating were off by even 20% you wouldn't audibly notice anyways. As for your CEA comment later that is useless as well. Stupid standard written to shut up uninformed buyers. Just by something reputable and be happy.
