Outside of Samsung who may be big enough to fight Verizon, I would expect that all future phones will not have an Sd slot for them. S3 is probably your last choice. As for rule of thumbs, there are NONE in audio that ever apply to reality. Instead of asking what you asked, you should describe what anomaly you are trying to eq out, what you've tried, and what you need help with. Using an EQ to it's "full potential" is only done by using it to solve woes in your system. Without knowing them it is pointless to use an EQ at all. Generally for newer users I'd recommend a graphic eq as fundamentally using a parametric takes a lot more insight.

In my boat I have a Gal Tab 2 for a H/U with a pair of miniDSP's. My boat has just under a TB of music on it. ALL controlled by the tab. Any other media I want streamed I do by tethering. I absolutely see no reason to put a h/u in a car anymore. I'll never own one again. Of course, my tab would be limited to 72gb of data if I wanted to stream to monitors as well. For most people that might cover their music collection, but it is a far cry from what I need.

What part of not an audible difference is confusing? Ratings are not recommendations. If you are budget limited either save up or be smart and step down a notch.
