My problem is that I NEED a docking station. I don't trust the aftermarket ones yet and love just setting the pc down. Really narrows down the list. Thought about getting my Lenovo fixed and then using it only at home. Buying something else for when I travel. Be more of a synchronization bitch but in some regards it'd be healthy as it would promote the right backing up routines.

Might be worth it but not super special. I really don't like HP though. Lenovo and Asus are about the only brands I "trust" in the laptop world. As far as reasonable priced. I used to be an IBM/Lenovo but my last one has been a dog. Into service twice and now the fan is shot and so is the screen. SSD is faster and uses less power since it has no moving parts. And can't store shit. Only use for SSD in a pc to me is for a boot drive and even then I am not 100% sold. Im sold for gaming and OS. And that is the only reason for me. And I don't game so we are the same

I like SSD if you are not going to store a lot of media. More than a GFX card or ram it will speed up your OS and apps. In the past year I haven't used my optical drive once. Every laptop my wife has had or roommate has had has pooped and needed to disk boot at peasantry once. Just my experience though. Ah, save an image to a usb stick
