Objectively, if you include the costs of gasoline, wear and tear on the automobile together with the price of the ingredients themselves, protein shakes are cheaper for me. Subjectively, I find protein shakes simpler/more convenient. I need the greater concentration of higher absorption levels of protein with in 20 minutes of my work out. Exactly. While there are innumerous sources of protein, the whey/soy powder based shakes allow for a comparatively faster absorption of protein and amino acids. These shakes are supplements, and most health nuts/bodybuilders/powerlifters seem to agree that at least 75% of your protein should come from traditional food sources. Also, from what I've read, the faster absorption rates of said shakes are the most beneficial post workout. Basically, there is no extra benefit of drinking a shake for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, or as dinner if it wasn't post workout. One shake after workouts, food for everything else. Umm, miso soup is a liquid...

If you fast to cleanse and start fresh it's understandable, if not it's definitely damaging. How is it damaging? Of course fasting is relative to how long you fast for, but lets say 16 hours is "fasting." How is it damaging? Don't tell me some tangent either. Makes me feel like absolute shit, saps energy, kills my concentration, and generally is a body fuck. Lasts for days as well.

If you fast to cleanse and start fresh it's understandable, if not it's definitely damaging. just curious, whats the general step-by-step process to cleanse? All sorts of witch voodoo usually including fasting and a coffee enema.

Supplements are bandaids. The real question is how hard will you try?

Subjectively, I find protein shakes simpler/more convenient. Huh? Miso last in your fridge as long as you can pretty much keep it (ie year+), kombu and bonito are dried and the same in your cupboard. As for more convenient perhaps, but the Japanese would say the opposite. They choose to eat it for breakfast for a reason. It's uber fast (pretty much required for breakfast) and a simple serving has something like 40% of your daily required protein. Rather easy to chug a bunch and it tastes yummy compared to protein shakes. Add to that it doesn't give you gas and I'd consider it more convenient.

Doesn't matter what it's related to. A study that doesn't lead to a theorem isn't finished and therefore in accurate. It is way to easy in biological science to prove what you want. No matter what you find, you will find something with as much credibility that says exactly the opposite. Pretty much one of the most disgusting industries there is. Of course they get to prey on the mildly or uninformed and everyone has health issues so the potential customer list is huge. It's pretty akin to the internet. You can surely learn something, but if you aren't smart enough to skim the BS then what you learn will be crap. I am definitely not implying that you aren't smart enough, but just voicing my general distaste for everything akin to the book you are defending. As for my don't read it comment. I'd say the same about SMD, Crapaudio etc. At the same time if you find it amusing, carry on. Just don't expect what you are learning to be so much a learning experience. If you want one of those, start to read about how different cultures diet. Much more interesting and IMO easier to apply to your own person to extend your life and make you happier in the process.

I also absolutely don't understand protein shakes. If you want protein drink a bowl of miso soup.

Love your premise. I tried it myself and decided. Was going to post before, but personally I think you guys should NOT read any of the books you've got Stefan. The idea's that I hear you come up with regularly are seriously biased and strange. I tried to make it simple before and pointed out how to eat, Matt is pretty much confirming the same thing. of course the most critical is to listen to your body.

Not exactly. Pre agricultural revolution we didn't have a strong idea of disease, virus, or most illness. I'm not saying that agriculture didn't affect health but I think in general it has helped it. Close proximity living has killed more than farming. I.e. every plague ever. And leprosy. Well that's what anthropology is for, forensic science is branched from it afterall, but honestly I don't know how they come up with their data and draw conclusions from something so long ego. Hopefully I'll become educated on that in the coming months. And I would agree that the agriculture overall has helped. Allowed people to prosper, and devote their time to figuring out cool shit like math. Although most of the cool math was figured out when people still died young.

What, pasteurized? That and milk, although raw is WAY better. Pasteurized milk is pretty useless.
  13. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
    Pretty unnatural.

That's what I did in my boat.
  15. I'd personally way rather have a real awesome used headunit than a new with warranty No, or their search function sucks in pdf

  19. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Of course it's even better if it's not pasteurized

Then it's his loss. 0dB signal and go I still say show him how to blow it and how not. His choice. Conservative settings are stupid.
  22. ///M5 replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Why make it idiot proof? Instead educate the idiot.

  24. There are a ton of compromises in car audio, welcome to one of the worst acoustical spaces possible. Really sad when that isn't realized and decisions are made based on misinformation and lack of knowledge.
