Will you help me design a SQ Front Stage/Custom A-Pillars?
Active beyond your goals? When you say vocal dubstep I need a translation. Only dubstep I've heard sounded like a bad intro to a terrible song so I'm not quite sure how vocals fit in. My music bias is tough as I mostly listen to jazz; however, staging and vocals can fit REALLY well in your car. I'm jealous of your dash and pillars. Also curious if you are okay with improving the stage for you while hurting it for your passenger.

Audio technix deadener.....
I can summarize. If you hide one skeleton in your closet there are more. Usually LOTS more. Just ask Kevin.

Welcome to the IHoP
Speaking of which. If someone in here wants a headunit, I have 5 atm. Of course there are only two anyone would want. Ones an 880, the other a Pio but that'll sell better to the marine crowd as I have the marine remote and shit for it.

I tried to buy your 2496...but the miniDSP's have now replaced that thought.

Questions about HP and LP filters, among other things
The M5 in my avatar was mine. I should probably change my screen name to AMG ML63 now, but history is worth something. I almost replaced the E39 with the new M5, but wanted to get rid of one vehicle as I need something to tow my boat and snowmobile trailer. Add to that being 6'7" and having a 1 and 3 year old and car seat space and such changed my priorities. If I don't hurry up and buy a new house though a fun car of some sort will be coming my way.

Best midbass for ft1-se?
Budget is relative. I'm on a budget...bet it's different than yours although I may actually spend less an audio amusingly. Generally speaking I'd do it with a headunit. Sell yours, but something that can do it. Used is definitely more than okay. Going to cost you a few hundred bucks to do so. For a plug in to what you have option, for $109+ shipping you can have a single miniDSP. That would also be cost effective.

I think 1/4 that will do enough free air at 10Hz to enable breakin

I wish my whiskey powered subwoofers.... Sticks a bottle of Crown Royal into a 20A outlet. Actually 40A, 2 20A circuits as top/bottom are isolated

No, I can't remember off the top of my head but it's older than me or at least of similar vintage. It was a gift

Which I realize states the opposite over my SS versus Tube comment yesterday.

Welcome to the IHoP
The only shitty thing is it seems my function generator took a crap. Obviously is easier if I can just plug that in and let it rip. Not so sure with no gain knob I want the Droid to be the testing device for break in...

Welcome to the IHoP
I have an SSD as a boot drive in both of my machines. I actually wish my laptop didn't have one. I could really use the storage, but when I configured it the only option was SSD if I wanted the rest of the stuff to be nice. I will never buy an expensive business laptop again though. Consumer all the way with the plan of replacing it yearly. Fucking nothing lasts.

Welcome to the IHoP
Dude comes at 4. Just installed a fresh 20a circuit yesterday so I can finally power up the Crown. Finally allows me to run the RLp if I want as I'll have 1kW at 8ohms Also ought to break in the Xcon rather nicely.

Gcon 12 vs Sa 12
Why do you say this? In the box you describe the Gcon will have a nicer response and be as loud if not louder across the board; however the difference really will be minimal to the ear. My expectations noting where they are built that it is more likely for the Gcon to be more consistent from unit to unit as well. I have no issue with the build quality of the Sundown, but my bias is logical based on manufacturing location. In it's price class the Gcon is a great driver, in particular for the box that you are planning on making. Add to that the hardwork that Aaron and Mark put into making this site available to all and I think it's a no brainer.

Best midbass for ft1-se?
I would never recommend using an amplifier as a crossover to run active.

Yeah. I know Sean does not approve, but it is better then the normal engineering office rottgut. Terrible coffee, but better than ultra shitty coffee.

Questions about HP and LP filters, among other things
Phase is a type of delay. If you google a sine wave you'll see that it has a phase from 0-360. Where you choose to start the wave in time alters its phase in comparison to the other signals in the car. It is added so that you can play around with different phase to minimize cancellation and improve the blending. In reality the knob is labeled incorrectly as it is more of a small time alignment adjustment than truly phase since it is centered at a frequency. You can hurt nothing by playing with this and may improve the frequency response. Only your ears can tell And yes, bass boost is a terrible thing. I seriously hate car audio marketing departments.
