Just purchased some CLD Tiles
So the well packaged items came today, had no time though for anything but the unpacking... I'd like to say that this package came in one day... Shipped from MD to NJ in less than 24 hours... Awesome UPS for once.. The tape on this box was something insane.... Opened it up with a carpet tac since I was too lazy and excited to get anything else...lol: Some samples from the Don and the wood roller: Here is a glimpse of the CLD tiles I ordered: I will start to tear down the trunk little by little until the end of the week and then remove the trunk lid for easy installation from the comfort of my living room floor.... lol

Sealed box frequency response
ahh I see... That chart makes alot of sense KU.. Thanks for that visualization of frequency response..

Sealed box frequency response
I'm pretty sure a sealed application can actually go lower than a ported.. Difference is the ported application "enhances" output at the specified frequency.. Also, I haven't looked far into it but I believe there is no correct answer for what sized sealed enclosure is better because each woofer has it's own range of sealed sizes... So really there is not actual answer to your question that could be solid IMO... I could be wrong but ported would "sound" louder but not "lower" than a sealed enclosure...

My first home made bass track
actually sounded clear and crisp.. and you are most def right... LOWER is BETTER... but it was good and Looooooongg!

Just purchased some CLD Tiles
Good morning ladies! I just wanted to inform you that I am now a proud owner of B-Stock CLD Tiles straight from Don @ SDS.... I skipped using the forum since I had some random questions for him... (a/s/l) kind of stuff... Not really? Anyway, so I ordered a bunch and if all goes well I will be not only doing my 2003 Camry but the lady's 2010 Honda as well... Give it some quietness... I will post some pictures when I receive my packages.. Another thing I'd like to mention, Don is awesome... Mentioned my license plate problems on the trunk lid and he immediately got back to me and offered a sample CCF for the plate to create a barrier between the two metals... What an amazing thing to offer..I didn't even think to ask for one, he just offered it up and also made some suggestions about the cross bars on the inside of my trunk lid that vibrate against each other.. I know most of you guys had spoke of using expanding foam (Great Stuff is the one I know off the top of my head) ... But he actually suggested RTV silicone..

if you're only looking for buds then I would look at etymotic research they are FTW! if you go for cans, audio technica, AKG or Beyer.. I personally had a set of AKG 701's and they were the best open ear I had heard in a while... if you go closed cans then the Beyer reproduce serious detail and bass... comfortable and soft as real boobies..!!! side note: Bose "used" to be an end all brand for audio(I don't even believe that statement myself)... then they became worse as they just try harder to increase their profits... Bose has a very flat response all around and doesn't really give alot of range within the frequencies it does reproduce... It's almost as if you add a little bass, increased the mids too high and then remove the treble that is needed to make complete sound reproduction. I used to borrow my lady's Bose when I would travel because it didn't matter to me or her is we broke them in transit....lol.. they can handle some beating, that plastic housing is pretty sturdy... Maybe that is why they increased their prices and claimed better quality... They have high grade plastics! yippee!!
