Fixed the problem, I have a blown tweeter...

This amp is cutting off on me at high and when I turn it down for a few seconds it come back on. Could this be from a short on one of the speakers lead. The amp is not hot at all and I notice that it just started doing this about a week ago. It has a status light that is blinking but the manual does not explain what blinking sequence this applies to code 11-thermal protection, code 12-short protection, code 13-repeated short & code 14-over volt protection.

Does that mean it's bad to seal them up? Will I gain any dbs by doing so?

I am also running 12 ga but will upgrading to 8 ga get me a little more dbs? This is on a aq3500d so by using 12 ga wire am I not getting full output from this amp? My wire run from the amp is 3 feet and under. What you guys think is it worth changing out?

Hey Ludeman, did you seal the two vents on your prelude? If you did, what kinds of difference did you see?

I should have mention this vent is going to the outside of the car on the rear driver side panel. Venting in the car is done by having the center armrest down or the whole back seat folded down.

I have a honda accord 99 with a trunk vent (8"x3" slot) behind the paneling on the driver side. I notice the other day that there was a lot of air leaking through there when the bass note hits. Would sealing this up help with spl and is this bad for the car? My box is in the trunk sub and port facing back. Just wanted to know if anyone had this problem and what did you do to it?

A loud system for now and if I happy with the numbers then maybe spl competition.

My box was made a little smaller than it should be at 2.25 cu ft per sub due to that my trunk is not that big (honda accord) and tuned to 34 hz.. I have this set up running on a 180 amp alternator with 2 kimetik 2400 and 1 kinetik 1400 in the back. I am looking to upgade my alternator to 300 amps in the near future. I have an aq2200d laying around so i thought about getting another one and running two of them strapped. What other amps should I be looking for?

Will I see a big difference if i update from an aq3500d (old one 3500 watts) to a saz-4500? I am looking to get my 2 dd3512e louder. Would this get me there?

I am currently running the older aq3500d (3500 watts @ 1ohm) and I also have an extra aq2200d laying around that is why I was thinking about getting another one and strap them together but would I see a big difference? I read on other forums that they have ran them strapped @1 ohm with no problem as long as you have a good enough electric to back it up. Is it worth it to run 2 aq2200 strapped or stick with the aq3500d and be happy with it? How much more powder can I run to 2 dd3512e (d4 wired to 1 ohm) and what would be a good amp for them?

How much stronger would the 2 aq2200d @ 1 ohm strapped be compare to 1 aq3500d old one @ 1 ohm on 2 dd3512? Running a 180 amp alternator with 2 kinetik 2400 and 1 kinetik 1400 in the back. Would this even be enough to run the 2 aq2200d? This would be a daily driver.

My hu is @18db oct slope and my amp is @24db oct slope. Which is generally better to use the 18 or 24 oct slope?

my pioneer hu has the subwoofer outputs but it only let you pick a frequency and does not have a full range setting. So if I were to use the hu crossover where should I set the crossover on the amp (should I turn it all the way up which is 200hz)?

If my car peaks at 50 hz, does this mean that i should set my crossover at 50 hz also?

What is the best way to set your crossover setting on your amp and headunit? Can you leave your amp a little higher, then adjust from your hu when needed or should they both be set on the same HZ? What would be the best frequency for 2 DD350012e in a trunk setup? Currently I am set at 80 hz on my radio and about 90 hz on the amp. Bass boost is at 0, do you recommend using the bass boost or does this do more harm than help to your subs?

I have the older model 3,500 watts @ 1ohm with only the one set 1/0 gauge inputs but if I were to run the adapter to have 2 power and ground wire would this help me in anyway?

would running dbl power and ground wire to my aq3500 help me in anyway or is this just a waste of money? I saw someone else do this to his aq3500 and also I see some other amps already have the dual inputs. How about dbl up on power and ground on your batteries bank in the back does this help any? I'm just tring to get the max out of my aq3500 before I decide to upgrade or not.

This is for the amp in the trunk and the batteries are also back there.
