DieHard Platinum batteries on sale!
Had to get in on the action.

More power for mids?
I've already checked, would only fit the minis in mine as well. No way I'd want to chop up my door to fit a 10" driver in there. I might be able to get a 8" in with a little work and still stay behind the factory grill. Of course I say that now, who knows what I'll end up with.

Maybe the tweeters really aren't all that bad. I think it's just the upgrade bug playing tricks on me this time. I'll probably make these last til I am ready for horns. I would rather have equipment that can surpass what I expect of it so I can go easy on it, rather than pushing things to the ragged edge only to want more. These Seas mids are waking up. Nice warm, yet snappy midbass that I never had with the IDs.

Grounding time. Two runs of 2/0 from alt bracket to frame, two runs of 2/0 from battery to frame.

2001 Tahoe daily driver
Another productive day for the tahoe. I got the console all buttoned up and will be monitoring amp temps to see of I will end up needing a fan down there. So far so good though, haven't really been wailing on it so only time will tell. On to the pics. Painted the mounting surfaces black to give a more finished look. Console in place. What amps? I don't see any amps... Still showing a bit, oh well.

DieHard Platinum batteries on sale!
Glad I was able to help you guys spend your money, lol. I'll be getting one myself in the next day or so. Still on the fence about doubling up under the hood or throwing another 31 in the rear.

2005 tahoe road to 150+ db
Considering you were having gnarly voltage issues last I checked, I'd vote electrical upgrades. I know I am working on getting my electrical beefed up before I even think about a big amp or multiple subs, but that's just me.

More power for mids?
I figured the 80prs didn't have enough adjustment for horns. I am fairly confident I'll end up with a minidsp in the future regardless of the driver route I take. Maybe one of Q's units depending on what comes of them. Sounds good. I want to get my center console back in first so I make sure I'm getting the true response. I'm at 3.15khz/12db right now.

No problem. If you have the room for them and don't mind the possibility of needing to loosen the connectors, the price is hard to beat.

I was just doing a little tweeter reading on zaph and that xt19 has a nice looking response for sure. I also was reading that he says that flat tuning higher freqs(10k+) are not nearly as important as many make them out to be. I also looked up that equal-loudness curve thing mentioned. I never realized that we don't actually "hear" a "flat" response, we actually are tuning and making a wild curve that is perceived as "flat" by our individual ears. I had even considered ID/ES mini horns under the dash, but I don't know if I am ready for something like that yet.

HOW TO POST PICS FOR SALE
This is how I do it. Once I have pics uploaded to photobucket I get to the screen where I can see the thumbnails. Hover over the pic I want and a little gear/icon shows up. Hover over that and a small menu drops down. Click on get links. Once I click on get links, another small window pops up. Click on the IMG code at the bottom and it automatically copies it. I then go to the posting location and press ctrl+v, right click then paste also works here as well. Post what looks like gibberish and it should turn into a photo. Add your words or other photos with spacing between just to be sure you don't mash it all together.

No problem. I am trying to figure out if my third battery should be under the hood, or in the rear. The rear makes most sense, but I am a sucker for having certain things matching and the plat and d3100 are not a cosmetically appealing combo. lol.

They are currently in the stock location of my doors(2001 tahoe) powered by a P600.2 very conservative on the gain. The height is about knee level, though I seem to want to say you have an escalade so you know what I am working with.

Amplifier Issues
I had a RF T500-1BD to this to me. Luckily I had a square trade warranty on it. I never opened it up to see what it was though. If you are handy with soldering, you should be good to go.

More power for mids?
Oops, I guess that's what I get for trying to research late at night. Just double checked on the measurements. It would take a lot of work, but I actually might be able to squeeze something like that in. Not sure it would be worth it though. I was playing with test tones of a bunch of freqs when I was testing on the mids. I was playing with each tweet by itself too. I was trying to get the flattest response I could from about 80hz on up. That was when I noticed the tweets falling off up high. Maybe I am deaf to those super high freqs? Maybe the tones I was using were junk? Something to note, these tweets are also that same that were hooked to the RF T400-4 that had major crosstalk issues and they are possibly damaged as I had lost one of them within a few hours of playtime before I realized what was happening.

More power for mids?
The Seas mids have become a welcome addition to my front stage. The line between mid-bass ans sub-bass is not easily noticeable anymore. The XS28s I have now seem to get fuzzy and kinda lack detail compared to the new mids. Also, they don't reach anything above 10khz-12khz or so, even on axis. I am considering a tweeter change now and from some quick searches and reading, the Seas 27TDFC looks like a good match if I stick with Seas. If I look to different mids in the future, would this be a versatile tweeter to play with different mid choices in a 2-way system?

Nice! It should be fun getting all those amps in place.

2001 Tahoe daily driver
So, I picked up some new, shorter, RCA cables on the cheap. For the price, I feel their short comings are worth it depending on the install. I snagged two of these: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021814&p_id=2864&seq=1&format=2 I received and installed my new rcas today and have a few things to make note of here. Flexibility is definitely not a strength with these things. It took a little coaxing to get my hu back in the dash but I managed. Making the runs in the console look slick will be a challenge. The outer portion of the connector was super tight, so much so that I was afraid I was going to snap the outputs on the hu trying to make the connection. I had to do a little fine adjusting here to make it work. I now have zero alternator whine compared to the RF cables before. The routing is slightly different so that may also make the difference, not sure here. I know I am probably imagining things, but I swear it sounds better, lol. Here is a size comparison of the monoprice cables to a set of Rockford cables. Flexibility comparison. While the RF cable is easily held in this coil, it is taking quite a bit more strength and concentration to keep the monoprice cable from springing out of my hand. Here is a shot of the monoprice cable in a relaxed position.

Look at the bright side, a lower score gives you lots of room for improvement. At least you are making progress. I'm seriously considering preordering a set of ethos 15s myself.

New zapco amps
I've never used another zapco so I can't compare. It seems to be of good build quality and it didn't sound any different from any other amp. I have no complaints about it. The only reason I'm not running it anymore is because I am now running more than double the power.
