Ethos and Trident preorder
What kind of response can be expected of the trident compared to the ethos? I was using winisd to model the ethos 15 in the rec'd box and it shows a peak(5.5db) at ~45hz. Not quite what I expected for the way people describe them digging low. I know cabin gain can change things. Modeling my xcon shows a very flat response and in my tahoe it seems to have a mild peak in the 50hz area. I'm just trying to make sense of what I am seeing.

newbie to sound deadening
The more work you put in, the more you will get out of it. I did the full treatment to mine. While it was quite time consuming doing the trimming to get the panel to fit correctly, I'm glad I did it and now it's done.

Taramps price vs reliability
Right now I am looking at the HD5k or an Ampere 5k. $362 difference. I'm starting to lean in favor of the Taramps as that extra money buys another battery, and I could build a kind of forced induction air box for the amp to mute the noise and keep it cool at the same time. Though that Ampere is a dead sexy beast, lol.

One of those on six tridents? Lol

Taramps price vs reliability
You should see the voltage those amps require. That's where they get away with that kind of power with only a single 1/0 power and ground input.

Taramps price vs reliability
I just have a bad feeling the fan noise will to too much for me and I don't want to go voiding any warranty just to quiet it down. I have another amp in my sights, I just hope it's still available.

Taramps price vs reliability
How involved is swapping fans? I don't always listen to my stereo loud as balls so having audible fans, let alone loud ones, isn't for me. I'm sure any warranty would be void by doing so?

I've got my eye on some led bulbs and a drl mod that should be fun once I decide to go for it.

I also seem to remember you mentioning some problems at one point. Is it a purchase you would second guess if you were to do it over again? Are the fans as loud as some people make them seem? It would be going under the seat in the second row so fan noise is a concern.

While it would look good with the right color temp, most times hid + reflector = headaches for other drivers at night. I know I hate the glare from them when not done right.

Taramps price vs reliability
I am soon to be grabbing a new sub amp and was offered a new taramps 5k for a pretty good price. I have just read several times on the questionable durability/reliability of the taramps name. Is it worth it to spend near to twice the price for the same power? I am seriously torn here... For what it's worth, 2 xcons or ethos will be on the receiving end of whatever amp I choose. Most likely xcon as I already have one.

WTB mono amp 3500-4000 watts
Might even stretch up to 5k depending on what is offered.

WTB New/Used XCON 15 D1 coils
Can't say that I am surprised no one has offered up yet.

order# 9856
Lol I'd be curious to see what crescendo thinks happened to it after taking a look at it.

Got me a nice tool box finally.
Nice, I've been wanting a new box myself. The pos I have now doesn't even have ball bearing drawers.

Does crescendo say water was to blame?

Wire Size Comparison
EB-flex 2/0 is actually on sale for $1.92/foot right now, fairly tempting as I am shopping around. How does it's size and copper density compare to any of the others I have shown here? Or compare to the 1/0 inputs of toolmaker battery terminals?
-
Wire Size Comparison
I ordered ofc from the ssa store and that is what is on the jacket. I sure hope sky high isn't trying to pull a fast one.
-
Wire Size Comparison
Just by eye, the sky high looks to have a much higher copper density as well. Certainly the best wire I have purchased thus far. The price is not bad either.

Swift's 2012 F250
Amps, subs, etc. = $$$ Install and tuning = $$$ When your own truck is too loud for you... = PRICELESS! On a side note, where are you ordering these amps from? SSA store has a nice price on the 3800, just wondering what the 5000 can be had for.

Wire Size Comparison
Now I just need to pull a nice triple beam out of a hat.

Wire Size Comparison
I thought this might make a worth while thread for anyone getting ready to buy wire/cable and wants to shop around. This isn't meant to do any bashing, it's just to let people know what they can expect when ordering some wire. If you care to add to the comparison, please have at least two varieties compared(don't just post a pic of some wire). List the Manufacturer, Size, and location of purchase. From left to right... 1. 2005 tahoe road to 150+ db
I would have to lean way forward to see them in my truck. Your headliner must be different. Do you have a sunroof? Looks pretty slick so far. Are you running just the under hood battery right now? Curious to see what kind of voltage drop occurs with two bc2000s as I am considering a bc 3500 myself.
