  1. That still doesn't really help. Model numbers of amp and sub, voice coil impedance, and whether the voice coils were wired in series or parallel would be more helpful. the amp is the Power Acoustik Class D A3000D • MOSFET Power Supply Transistors • Pulse Width Modulation Circutry • Three-Way Protection Circuitry (short, thermal & overload) • 2-ohm Stereo, 4-ohm Mono Stable (A520) • Tri-Mode Capable (A520) • Selectable Hi/Full/Low Pass Crossovers (A520) • 200mV-8V Low Level Inputs • Pre-Amp Outputs • Dash Mount Remote Gain Control (mono-block model) • Variable 12 dB 40-250Hz HPF (2 ch. model) • Variable 12dB 40-250Hz LPF (2 ch. models) • Variable 12 dB 40-250Hz LPF (mono-blocks) • Variable 0-18dB 45Hz Bass Boost • Variable 12 dB 15-40Hz Subsonic Filter (2 ch. models) • Frequency Response: 10-30kHz (2 ch. model) • Frequency Response: 15-150Hz (2 ch. model) • Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 98dB • Total Harmonic Distortion: .02% (.50% mono-blocks) • 4 ga. 2. i didnt think it was the amp that was blown because it turned on for a second or 2. its dual voice coil and its bridged. the sub isnt connected and the fuse still blows. i'm gonna take a closer look at the power wire.
  3. im running a power acoustik 3000 watt mono amp. i'm using 4awg pwr cable and ground. stock alt. i just pulled out my 2 12" power acoustik mofos that i was running and put in a fully loaded 18" fi btl. well anyways when i first hooked everything up it was working fine for 5 mins. then i started blowing fuses in the power cable. i checked everything for shorts, and if anything was grounding out. everything seems fine. even if i dont connect the sub to the amp the fuse still blows. whats causing this? is it because i need thicker power and ground cable?
