  2. Yes the amp is powering up with no sound, iv'e checked all the settings on the amp too. I have another amp i can hook up but i just wanted to avoid that pain in the ass. So there's no way to check to see if the amps getting a signal with a DMM?
  3. I only had the amp held down with one screw but it was secure enough to where it stayed in place while driving but my dad felt the need to demonstrate that it should be held down better by shaking the fuck out of it . Im pretty sure thats what it is but to be 100% sure i was wondering if theres a way to prove that the amp is getting signal from the RCS's with a DMM. Since its my dad i don't want to start getting mad at him till I know that everything else is right. Also amp is a RF punch 450.2
  4. Well yesterday my dad was helping me run some wires in my car and decided to shake the hell out of my amp. When he did it ripped out all of my speaker wire connections and everything. So i reconnected everything and checked my connections everywhere but the amp is still not working. My dad is thinking its my RCA splitters. What i was wondering is there a way to test my RCA's with a DMM? Also would a violent shake make the amp quit working? It powers on theres just no output. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have no experience with 5 channel amps. But why not just run 2 seperate amps?
  6. Fusing your power wire isn't necessary in the sense that it will work with out but its strongly recommended because it will prevent a major short so you should go with your gut and fuse. Also just out of curiosity with all that electrical what kind of equipment are you running?
  7. Check out some subs at the SSA store they have some good quality speakers in your price range. Also a custom box built to spec is a must if you want to get the most out of your sub.
  8. Do you have any electrical upgrades? What size is your stock alt if no?
  9. I have a punch 450.2 i run at 2 ohm mono. It handles it fine from what i see it stays cool. Its one of the rectangular boxy black ones.
  10. Back in the day? Heck i used that method till i got a DMM here recently
  11. Where are you seeing that alpine amp for $300. Not doubting you just curious.
  12. Ok thanks. I wanted to be sure because my dad is building the box for me, but he lives out of town so i'm gonna just give him the cut list and hope he can put it together without a picture. Any other thoughts or suggestions on this? I'm getting this box made because the one I have now turned out to be tuned to 53hz I hope that the 34hz tuning will increase my low end output noticably.
  13. Box for IA 187 15" I used the RE box calculator and i got this: width-28" height-21.5" bottom depth-18" top depth-18" Port height-20" Port width-3" port lenght 1-14.25 port lenght 2-9" total port lenght-28.5" Port diameter-8.74 square port area-60" Port volume internal-1710 volume displaced-1726.875 box volume-4.061ft3 frequency-33.76 cut sheet bottom-28x18 top-28x18 left -17.25x20x17.25x20 right-16.5x20 16.5x20 back-28x20 front-24.25x20 port L1-13.5x20 13.5x20 port L2-9x20 cut angle-90 These dimensions seem wrong to me. wouldn't the left and right be the same could someone please explain this for me? am i just slow or is this wrong? thanks alot.
  14. Theres a guy on the AQ page with 4 15's doing a 155.
  15. Today i saved my friend and his system choice. He was talkin about how he was gonna run to "competition" dual 12's. I guided him to ssa and Recommended the Dcon and 187 from IA audio.
  16. with all good intentions here bro, be very weary of show boating in your own hood, sorta risky. not knocking it, we are guilty of it on some occasions, rattlebox317 can tell you, people will widow shop for a while, but the temptation grows each time, some folks can only stay honest so long.O/T , nice ride.chop thanks man
  17. Are you willing to lose the spare. Take some measurements of the space you want to use for a box. Also are you building the box yourself?
  18. I'm running a stock batt upfront, 8 gauge to the amp. Right now I have an additional engine and chassis ground in 1/0. You lost me with the resistor stuff, and I am pretty sure that the black and red wire is the positive. Also I planned on running 1/0 to whatever amp I get.
  19. I looked and i think those will fit but they only have one pigtail plug they're only $115 though for a 140 amp so if i could make it work that would be awesome. thanks for the help man. also with the big three done and a 140 amp alt, would I be able to run 2000 watts rms to a sub with maybe another 300w to a amp for mids/ highs?
  20. If you can get two LI's for the price of a BL then i would say go with 2 LI's. Theres a guy on youtube with two of them doing a 146 off of a kicker 1500.1
  21. Awesome build. Need vids
  22. I bump all the time. My friend says he can here me coming down his street but i talked to my neighbors and asked them to let me know if i bothered them with it instead of calling the cops. I only have 1 15 though. No tickets yet just complaints from the girlfriend if my trunk is open.
