The ipod control is not as fast as I would like. You go to settings, then lists, then you see songs/playlists/etc. It takes like one second to load when you are searching and go down to the next page. Its only a second, but it can be a little annoying. It being a touchscreen, it is a little different than what I'm used to.

update: got the HU in. Its sexy. Amp wired up. Putting the comps in tonight.

Now that the "Digital Conversion" has happened, can I receive the 10 or so digital channels in the car? I've see some of the digital converter boxes that run on 12 volts. What I"m really trying to get at is "How well can you receive the signal while in motion?" . I've seen it used for things like tailgating, where the vehicle is stationary. If possible I wanna be able to watch the local news on my way home from work or catch the Simpsons, etc.

I DO love Kenwood, but I could not pass up this deal. I just saved $220 and all I lost was Bluetooth. I really dig the screen on the JVC.(no slot on the front, screen takes up the whole face) I'm sure the experienced audiophiles on here, would say that Kenwood is gonna have better features, but JVC is nothing to sneeze at either. Its not Alpine, but its not exactly Dual either.

umm if you turn your key one position forward or backwards it SHOULD turn on your stero allowing you to listen with the car off. if yuo are going to be pounding the BASS i recommend turning on the car though. or maybe you can wire in a switch to turn off the sub and amp so you can listen to the audio without damaging anything due to low voltage drops. Definitely not gonna be pounding the bass in front of work on the lunch break. I usually listen to talk radio during that time.

So i just got a 200 watt 2 channel and some comps. I already have a mono amp and some 12s. The sub amp turns on when the key is in the on position. You can't hear it in the acc position. When I wire my comps and the new amp, will I be able to listen to the radio with the key in the acc position? I usually like to listen to the radio on my lunch break, etc. Will I just have to turn the key to the on position for that?

hey. small world. I just pulled my door panel off my 05 camry twice this week. I'm not sure about the carollas. mine however, has 3 screws. one under a plate in the handle. one covered by a button near the inside top part. and one inside the arm rest near the controls under a rubber liner. the rest is clips. The corolla may be similar.

So sonic electronix has a JVC KW-NX7000 open box for $549 with free shipping My link Its got most of the stuff I want(minus bluetooth) My orginal plan was to get the KEnwood Dnx-6140. Its $779 after shipping. I like the screen on the jvc better, but I'm fond of the kenwoods. I know how the bypass works on the kenwood, but not sure how to do it on the jvc, I love the way kewoods work with ipod and have no idea how the jvc works(do you have to have special cable or can you use the apple one?) I have $605 in savings and could order the JVC today if I wanted. If I wait, it will take me about a month to get the extra $180 or so for the KEnwood. Thanx in advance. And again, time is a factor, as they have 1 left.
