So, ive known abt digital designs subs for a long time but have always thought that its all SPL and no SQ. A friend of mine recently got thier 3512 12" sub and told me that not only does it pound, but the SQ is nothing to be laughed at. He's a good friend of mine so I trust his opinion, but he lives in another state so I cant hear it for myself.

Now for the match up...

-in one corner, the digital designs 3512 ported with 1200 watts

-in the other corner a mag 12" ported with 1200 watts

now I assume that the DD sub would beat the mag in SPL (tell me if im wrong) but how much would the DD sub be lacking in SQ versus the mag

any help, thoughts, comments, or opinions would be appreciated!

You know, the reason everyone hates these threads is because it is IMPOSSIBLE to say. Each driver will react differently to each specific application. What may work well for the Magnum, may not work well for the DD, and vice versa. each driver/enclosure will react differently in a given environment. Not many people on here have experience with DD as far as I know. I have read a little on Termpro about the 3500s, and it's about half and half as far as performance is concerned.

Now as far as the Magnum is concerned, I still to this day have yet to hear anyone say 1 bad thing about it. It will sound good, and will easily get loud. It's a steal for the price, and Nick and all the guys at SI are awesome to deal with. That right there is a major selling point for me, but who am I?

The DD is a relatively new driver and for some more opinions on that, I would look to Termpro. Then you could give us some more specifics and we could possibly be a little more helpful.

screw it, as soon as I get the money im gonna just get the MAG. Im such a friggin cheapskate that I can never make a decision on anything over ten dollars! I kno the mag is gonna rock but I guess I was just looking for the most i can squeeze outta my money. Thanx for all you guys help on this and my other threads, but this is it, ive made up my mind, the MAG is what im goin with!!
