Well, Tang Band has a new fan. Today I installed a Pioneer 7700 cd player, a planet audio vx2002 on a set of fusion powerplant 6.5 comp set, and a jbl bp600 on 2 tang band 740 8" subs in a 1.3 ft3 box tuned at 33. I'm pretty damn impressed for two 8"s that I got new for $80 a pair. Heavy little subs, built well, 12mm x-max. I have 2 more on the way :) But as it sits it makes for a VERY clean sounding system, I wasn't expecting the amount of low end output, It's not 150 dbs :) but defintily enough for a nice daily beater, didn't expect the low end authority. So all in all I'm happy. So anybody looking for a nice smaller substage 4 of the TB 8's on 600-800 rms would definitly solve your problem. I've used alot of other brands both low and high end, and would definitly reccomend these.....

I have used a few TB drivers in the last few years and have never been let down. Same as Dayton.

i've always wanted to run a pair of those, i think it would be fun. but i just cant get away from the 12s

I'm still looking for a nice project to use a pair of those! Paired up with one of PE's ButtKicker amps, it'd be some interesting DIY/budget bass!

honestly, the 2 tang band 8's keep up with alot of the 10 and 12" systems I've had in the past, the more I listen the more I'm impressed, I ran through some jeezy and 36 mafia and it hit all the low notes with roof flexing authority.. very ahppy..

Have you tried any other box sizes? I would be very interested to see how they do in a larger and smaller box... I have heard recc. ported box was 1 cube per 8, but if you are happy with them in about .65 cubes per, I may have to give them another look at that price point.

honestly I haven't even thought about doing another box.. Its right about .7 each after displacement. at about mid 30's. It may get luder in a bigger box, but I'm really surprised, and I really like the way they sound right know, so I figure why screw with it it I'm happy.. give me a week or 2.. :)
