How come most every home audio sub is ported? The question is that simple. I want to learn more.

Most every?

Hardly.

A lot of them are ported because a lot of people want peaky low frequency output for movies, and ported is the easiest way to do that in a marketable way...transmission lines aren't very economical to ship.

"Most Every" not really, but I would say that the majority of DIY subs are. Most home DIYers want to get every last Hz out of a movie that they can even if its at the expense of some output in the mid bass range. Personally, if I make a ported sub I like to have it roll off a bit so the room gain compensates and it's not peaky on the low stuff but thats just me.
