ok since i used a jigsaw my circles for my baffle suck balls so i need to find something to seal the holes i have.. i cant use window seal b/c it will hurt the subs.. anyone have a solution for me?

i actually have 2 baffles as it is.. i plan on either filling these up or redoing both baffles.. i would prefer to just fill it if i can..

just redo them, ...... at the end of the day your set up is only as good as your biuld

If you are trying to make a non-circular hole circular you are indeed much better off adding another baffle and cutting it round. That is a rather critical location for strength in your box and the easiest fix is another baffle.

How big is your baffle? Home Depot near me sells quarter sheets of mdf for $6

If you really have that tough of a time getting THE holes right, cut it the best you can & find someone to make you rings..

my home depot sells them 4x8 sheets for 25 a piece.. im really low on cash right now lol

How bad are the holes ? Got any pics ? f it's not to rediculous and you hit wood with the screws, you can always use some adhesive backed foam weatherstripping

i can get pics.. i just need to find time.. it really isnt that bad.. i screwed the subs in but there is a gap that the air comes out of.. i need to update my build log on here anyways.. lol ive been done for about 2 weeks.. ill try to get pics sometime soon tho

WHoa , if you have air escaping past the sub once it is mounted. Your gonna need to make a whole new baffle. A quick fix would be to cut a ring a couple inches larger than your opening in the enclosure , then glue it on over the other opening. Not going to be the prettiest , but would serve it's purpose

I'm a big fan of a roto-zip spiral saw. I picked one up on ebay for 50 bucks that a guy used for drywall then didn't need anymore. Wonderful tool. It has a circle guide that is perfect for making holes in boxes, and it's actually not bad for doing freehand cuts.

I second Ramos' suggestion. Another option, depending on what tool you used to cut the hole with, is to reglue the piece you cut out and then cut it again. This is relatively simple to do if you used a jigsaw since the blade is quite thin. You can use hot melt to 'spot weld' the circle in place and then a hard glue like epoxy to fill the crack.

A bit more time consuming but it gets away from having a double baffle..

was that comment really necessary? i cut the circle with a dull blade and had nothing to hold it (other than myself) and what does cutting a circle have to do with driving? compare apples to apples not oranges to oragnes..

How about good old silicone? It usually peels off of metal nicely and not bad to pop the driver back out if you don't use too much. Only other quick thing I can think of is use a putty or make a paste with epoxy/glue and sawdust or whatever....maybe even duroglass and put it on there then plastic wrap and lay the sub against it to form it properly. Duro might not stick to wood that well, could put some grooves/holes in edge to give it a foothold.

You can cut a stepped hole in your top baffle with a router and then cut a stepped ring to fit and glue into it. I've done that a few times when I put 12" auto subs into old 15" home speakers....makes a nice cheap loud speaker for parties.

lol, driving? It is not that easy to cut round with a jigsaw if you don't have experience with it, and a good one makes it easier than a crappy saw.
