Posted October 17, 200717 yr is it neccesary to upgrade my entire electrical system to run a 3000 watt amp in a cobalt? I have some people telling me I need to upgrade my alternator battery and every wire under the hood. i've ran more power than 3000 watts with a complete stock setup before with no problems. What do you guys think? I can understand the alt and battery upgrade that's a given...
October 19, 200717 yr yes youll need either an alternator or a couple batteriesHe'll need both actually. At least a 200A alternator and perhaps a battery about the size of the Kinetik HC1800.
October 19, 200717 yr yea...as for "running" a 3000 watt. The main thing is that there's a difference between having the amp turn onand having the amp put out its power without killing your electrical system.that amp will put some serious strain on your electrical. Big 3, alt, batt like was posted before.
