Hey guys im in the process of taking out my system in my truck. Well i took out the three batteries and all my amps and subs i have in my cab and when i went to start the car it wouldnt turn on. My volt meter was reading like 8. something volts and to turn it on i have to have it jumped. Any suggestions on what it could be. My fuses by the battery under the hood looked fine. The alt is fine as well it idles at like 13.7 volts. thanks.

8 volts means you let the battery discharge somehow...is it holding a charge now that it's been cycled back once?

No when i turn the car off it immediately drops back to 8 something volts. You would think driving it around would help charge it but no luck.

Then you either have something pulling the battery down constantly, a loose connection somewhere, or the battery itself is shot.

Run it or charge it for a while, then pull a cable off the battery and check the voltage on it. If its under even 11v its shot. 8v means two cells out of 6 are gone. I had two batteries in a truck and one did that, it would kill the other battery in a few days just sitting there.
