Posted November 7, 200717 yr I found a formula that seems to work at http://www.caraudio911.com/ under designing a ported box. But I was wondering why on step four they say to subtract half the port width from the port lenght to get your physical port lenght? When I made my box I dont think that I did this so I may be building a new one if this is important. I was also wondering if this formula works or has been used by anyone here?
November 7, 200717 yr End correction, if you are using one of the walls as the other side of the port. Not going to be a big deal overall.
November 7, 200717 yr I was also wondering if this formula works or has been used by anyone here? It's a standard formula. Yes it works. And yes, everyone who has designed a ported enclosure has used it. Even if they used a computer program to design the box, the program uses the same formula.
