Umm, yes... if it is on Audio Junkies, it really did happen.

Oh, we should really patent that!

The only clarification I would make about that score is that it is the highest recorded score in competition, but it is not a "World Record". World Records in DB Drag can only be set at 3x events and this particular score was done at a 2x.

I couldn't tell you to be honest, but I can say that when you get to that level of competition, people tend to keep things very quiet. They don't want others to know their secrets, you see.

Even if you knew all the specifications of that build...which you won't...that's not a score you just replicate :)

Think you'd have to buy a new vehicle to drive everyday because you won't be able to drive that one when you're done with it :)

lol, go to termpro. alan is there all the time, and while he won't share all of his secrets, he will share some advice. he's helped one or two others out that i know. IIRC, he is using, or was, a 6th order bandpass.

and i seriously doubt anyone on this forum will ever get that close to that man, let alone many in the states period. last year, in deathmatch, his single sub setup whooped many of the big dogs running quite a few more subs.

advice being "DD FTW" and "Stetsom FTW" :P

but it does get kinda old after awhile :(

lol....true. but i know of a few bigger name competitors that has tapped him for a bit of knowledge outside of dd and stetsom ftw. though, he's been really leaning towards that advice for a bit here lately....

Thank you...

okokok lets discuss physics....

if someone were to attempt this ?

where would one start ?

Banpass ?

how big would the enclosure be ?

port freq ?

mic placement ?

we can get into the power later...

someone has to have a clue

There's a lot of ways to attempt something like this...when you get to that level, it's about testing, testing, testing and more testing. So there's no simple way to start.

1:20 am and it is ready to go. . . .

well, as jim said its not always any easy task to start. test test test is the best thing to do.

but if you'll notice most SPL competitors will tune rather high. why? because usually you can give more power to a sub to make it play louder(only for burps) because at a higher response the cone doesnt move as much and wont reach its mechanical limits as fast compared to a low tuned design.

my comment seems rather generalized but i hope it helps.

it was probally legal. outlaw is done in USACi. probally walled, but in the sense you are thinking of a wall since its bandpass..

i dont think it be 70/80hz cause then its midbass :P, wheres the fun, and i believe there are cutoff frequencies in the rules iirc.
