Posted November 8, 200717 yr http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/551/world...ingle-subwoofer can this be confirmed ?
November 8, 200717 yr Umm, yes... if it is on Audio Junkies, it really did happen.Oh, we should really patent that! The only clarification I would make about that score is that it is the highest recorded score in competition, but it is not a "World Record". World Records in DB Drag can only be set at 3x events and this particular score was done at a 2x.
November 8, 200717 yr Author i need to see the boxx... size ( cf )what note ( Freq ) did he hitt ? too little info to go on in that artical
November 8, 200717 yr i need to see the boxx... size ( cf )what note ( Freq ) did he hitt ? too little info to go on in that articalI couldn't tell you to be honest, but I can say that when you get to that level of competition, people tend to keep things very quiet. They don't want others to know their secrets, you see.

November 8, 200717 yr lol, go to termpro. alan is there all the time, and while he won't share all of his secrets, he will share some advice. he's helped one or two others out that i know. IIRC, he is using, or was, a 6th order bandpass.and i seriously doubt anyone on this forum will ever get that close to that man, let alone many in the states period. last year, in deathmatch, his single sub setup whooped many of the big dogs running quite a few more subs.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
November 9, 200717 yr you are going to need a bit of work to get 30 db more:)considering that is 1000x louder...
November 9, 200717 yr lol, go to termpro. alan is there all the time, and while he won't share all of his secrets, he will share some advice.advice being "DD FTW" and "Stetsom FTW" but it does get kinda old after awhile

November 9, 200717 yr Author Thank you...okokok lets discuss physics....if someone were to attempt this ? where would one start ? Banpass ?how big would the enclosure be ?port freq ?mic placement ?we can get into the power later...someone has to have a clue
November 9, 200717 yr There's a lot of ways to attempt something like this...when you get to that level, it's about testing, testing, testing and more testing. So there's no simple way to start.
November 9, 200717 yr 1:20 am and it is ready to go. . . .Thank you...okokok lets discuss physics....if someone were to attempt this ? where would one start ? Banpass ?how big would the enclosure be ?port freq ?mic placement ?we can get into the power later...someone has to have a clue well, as jim said its not always any easy task to start. test test test is the best thing to do.but if you'll notice most SPL competitors will tune rather high. why? because usually you can give more power to a sub to make it play louder(only for burps) because at a higher response the cone doesnt move as much and wont reach its mechanical limits as fast compared to a low tuned design. my comment seems rather generalized but i hope it helps.
