I've got 2000 watts to drive an RE XXX 12 - the split coil design.

What would be the ideal enclosure size and tuning for a HT setup?

For HT you are going to want to tune really low, somewhere in the 12-15hz range. As for enclosure size, I have no personal experience building a box for the xxx so I will refrain from recommending but will say with that much power you may need to downsize from the norm a bit.

2-3 cubes tuned low like sean mentioned. if the split coil design is as strong as the xbl^2 drivers thermally, it'll eat the 2kwrms pretty easily in that sized box. i threw 2.5kwrms at a xbl 12xxx in 2.5 @32hz with 36in^2 of port in car and never hurt the thing.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

im assuming the split coild is the 06+.. from what ive herd (straight form a re dealer) is they have problems with cooling do the the open air design

My house is 1800 sq ft ;)

4 cubes is definitely doable...sounds like a plan.

So if I go with 4 cu ft and (1) 80 sq in port, how long should the port be if I tune the box to 15 hz?
