Posted November 21, 200717 yr Anyone have any personal expierence with the soundstream pca2000d. they are rated 2000 watts rms. Anyone know if its underrated or overrated? I am gonna be getting either to Fi Bl 15" or so SSA icon 15". Just wondering if this amp will be good for my project.here the specshttp://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=15529
November 22, 200717 yr They suck they used cheap components in em the pca series isnt all that great i know the 3500's have an extraordinary defect rateI would look for an autotek mm2000.1, or a lanzar opti2000, or a sundown 1500 at 1/2 ohmbtw you might wanna look at a btl if your looking at running 2kw overpowering a sub by a kw is tricky and cant be run all day long
November 22, 200717 yr edit: spoke too soon. i dont know anything for 5 bills that fit your needs thats some quality
November 22, 200717 yr thought you were getting one 15" disregard what i said, You could look into the new hifonics bxi2607 theyre decent, but only put out 2000 watts or sohttp://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18538this amp does a bit more than rated and seems to be real popular for the money you would be overpowering a tad and you would want to get the cooling option on the bls Edited November 22, 200717 yr by thacarter546
November 22, 200717 yr Author i was just double checking cause i heard the 2000d's werent bad it was the 3500 that were having the problems
November 22, 200717 yr That may be i dont have any personal experience with them, i just know that when i was looking at them the general consensus was that they ran too hot and burned up frequently plus those went/go on ebay for around 300 havent looked em up in a whilehttp://cgi.ebay.com/Kicker-KX-2500-1-Mono-...1QQcmdZViewItemif you could spring the extra couple bucks for that it would be your best bet those kickers are beasts Edited November 22, 200717 yr by thacarter546
November 22, 200717 yr Author heres another one would it be alright to bridge two of these?http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...p;idproduct=380i remember someone telling me they wouldnt suggest it but hey cant go wrong with there 2 year warranty
November 22, 200717 yr Actually heard pretty good things about those, so long as you take the time and strap them correctly i dont see why not i dont have any first hand experience with them, but have heard great things about them, if i had to do it over again id rather have two of those than my pa a3000db (not a bad amp, just not a good one)I still would take the kicker over it, but that is a tad over budget and i can understand limited budgets
November 22, 200717 yr Only the Kicker on this page am I at all excited about. A Sundown SAZ 1500 would work nicely as well though.
November 22, 200717 yr like ///m5 jsut mentioned, of all teh amps mentioned, only the kicker and the sundown would garner any attention from me. the kickers are beasts and even if a tad over budget, will deliver exactly, if not more, then what they claim. as will the sundown. however, running the kicker at 2ohm vs the sundown at .5 ohm will be better on teh vehicle.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
November 22, 200717 yr Author alright this is gonna be my last one i need an opinion onhttp://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14733
November 22, 200717 yr You don't have to be done, ask away but it wouldn't hurt to research based on things other than price...
November 22, 200717 yr Author I do i do but like all the reviews on that were all positive so i figured they might be good then i ask here and everyone sauys there not
November 25, 200717 yr i'll disagree with ///m5 a bit on the ma audio hk2000d. i owned and ran the hk4000d for awhile, sold it to a kid to throw on his pair of solo x 12s, and it rocked. it's a bit inefficient compared to some, but according to the dmm (so, not 100% accurate) it delivered the power it promised. in the 2000wrms class, i would still grab the kicker first, but the ma audio isn't a bad budget choice, IME.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
November 25, 200717 yr Author ya im considering it althought ive read a good bit of good review on the soundstream so i came here to double check and eveyone just hates it and i just won a brand new one off ebay for 250 so i dunno if i should go for it or not
November 25, 200717 yr ya im considering it althought ive read a good bit of good review on the soundstream so i came here to double check and eveyone just hates it and i just won a brand new one off ebay for 250 so i dunno if i should go for it or not if you already bought it new from ebay is it offered with warrenty on the side from another company? if so get it with the insurance/warrenty just to be safe. i got mine off ebay fer like ehh 350 and added the 30 extra for 3yrs insurance/warrenty. well worth it. 3 months of use it broke and factory warrenty was voided since not puchased from anauthorized dealer. so if you still have the time get it, just to be safe. should be from a company called SquareTrade.the amp will do you good. just be good to it.
November 25, 200717 yr for $250, you're not going to be hurt by it. buy it, install it correctly and wang away. if it lasts awhile, sweet! if not, well....but i think if your electrical is up to par, you install it correctly and aren't 99% volume happy to the point it wants to get hot, it's a decent buy for $250.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
November 27, 200717 yr Author yup thats what im doing hopefully it will do well for me i will have pics and vids of my setup in action
December 1, 200717 yr get the Hifonics 2607 they are solid amps. People talk alot of chit about Hifonics but this amp puts out tons of power
