Posted December 3, 200717 yr In ported enclosure, if you were to use PVC or Aero ports of different sizes tuned to different fequencies what would be the end result?Would the tuning frequency of the box be based off of the total port area or how would that exacly work?J
December 3, 200717 yr In my logical mind I think that it would take the 2 and give you an absolute value for your tuning because the 2 ports both share the same chamber.. Edited December 3, 200717 yr by Jybfan04
December 3, 200717 yr No matter what, tuning frequency will always be determined by this equation:Av = cross sectional port area in sq. in.Lv = length of portVb = enclosure volumeIf using multiple ports, calculate the total port area & port length. That being said, I would not use different length ports, due to differing port velocities.
