Posted December 4, 200717 yr I only have a 4" hole in my door and i need to find a set of mids that will clear. Does anyone know how big the diameter of the magnet+ terminal is? My rainbow mid was exactly 4" and it barely cleared and my AA poly mids didnt clear at all.Heard good things about them and want to give them a try.
December 4, 200717 yr The MLI-65 has a mounting diameter of 6", so it won't work for you.And everything you heard about them is true... Best,Mark

December 4, 200717 yr Mark is right. the mounting diameter is rather large because of the terminals. but they're nice speakers. especially for the money

December 5, 200717 yr Why not take a hole saw to it? Make it fit Edited December 5, 200717 yr by thacarter546
December 5, 200717 yr Ok, I see what you're doing now. You are looking at 5" between the edge of the magnet to the edge of the terminal strip on the opposite side.Best,Mark

December 5, 200717 yr Actually, I lied. The measurement I gave you is from the basket step to the terminal. Please see shot. You will notice the tapered spokes that extend to the edge. Depending on just how thick you have your spacer, you may have to increase the hole size to compensate. I figure if you go to 5 1/4" you should be ok if you use a 3/4" spacer.Best,Mark
