Posted December 5, 200717 yr I tried my hand at designing my ported box for the MAW 10 that will fit behind the seat of my RCSB truck. I have decided to go to 1ft^3 as it recomended to keep things comfrotable. According to my figures using the formula on JL Audio site I reached these figures. Port is a piece of 4" PVC.Box @ 1ft^328" port 33.08 Hz27" port 33.63 Hz26"=34.20 Hz25"=34.81 Hz24"=35.46 HzIs this right and which one would should I go with for my purposes as a daily driver? And also what should I use as the displacement for the driver? Thanks for yalls help in advance, Aaron
December 5, 200717 yr Your numbers are right. Someone else will have to recommend the best one for a daily driver as I'm not familair with the Maw 10. The recommended tuning is 29 hz according to the website.
December 5, 200717 yr Author Ok thanks for confirming that now can anyone suggest what to tune it to and also does 1ft^3 sound good or should I try and get alittle more out of it?
December 5, 200717 yr Your math is fine, the higher the output you are looking for the higher the tuning you should use. If you are an output fiend go with the 35hz (actually you could go higher, but you won't get a rec'd from me then but I like the other end of the spectrum).
December 5, 200717 yr Author Ok thanks but what about the ft^3 does that sound alright or should I go for more?
December 5, 200717 yr How much power are you going to throw at it and what are your listening preferences?
December 5, 200717 yr Author To be completly honest, as much as it can handle, and I listen to everything just mostly rap and rock. Also what about displacement on the sub?
