I need time saving tips without "Half-assing" the installs, such ass no tach wire, no hood pins etc. Any ideas?

SteveSan's Time Saving Tip For Life #1:

When all else fails... read the manual.

dont cut the wires, just cut off the outer sheeth/plastic. what have u.

basiclly make a hole in the wire, just pierce it with a pin or something, then twist the alarm wiring through it and wrap it around.

wires never come undone and no need for solder..IMO

Also yea make sure u have the right wires, lol, cuz its alot of them.

I dunno, I would use an inline splice or something. Connecting wires like that leaves an opportunity for sketchy connections that take forever to figure out later when they start failing intermittently. Thats just my take anyway. I tend to build things for worst case scenario. :)

Utility knife, cut off a section of insulation, solder to wire, then wrap in electrical tape.

Using taps (scotch locks) or just wrapping the wire around it is just asking for trouble.

Coming from someone who used to do this for a living...

As for your questions, you need a tach wire & hood pin to install any remote start... and trying to bypass that will get you into all kinds of liability issues.

100% of the time, solder all the ignition and heavy duty wire....you have no idea how chitty it looks when someone tries to use t-taps on ignition cables

if you want to save time, you could t-tap most of the connections, but you risk bad connections....over time the connections could oxidise and not be functioning...and i have seen way too many times people use t-taps that are too big for the wire, please, if you do use t-taps, use the right size

but if you are going to take the time to put in an alarm/remote star...just do it right the first time....i soldered everything except two connections that we not possible to reach with a solder gun and take your time and run your wires clean...it looks better and will help you troubleshoot anything easier if it doesn't work right

not many ways to cut corners here
