I think that the rca's might possibly be going bad on my pioneer DEH P6400. I am wanting to replace it but i dont want to buy a crappy one. what do u recommend that fits my budget of $200-$250?

I prefer the look of flip down faces i dont really like seeing a cd slot in the face. And maybe a remote like my pioneer has

Ok $0-$400 where will that get me? that has got to be a pretty big field

Either you step up to a 9887, 880prs, 7100 or down to an entry level as the steps in between don't really offer anything special.

If you really want to shop a price range, just buy a Pioneer, Eclipse or Alpine that has the "features" you are interested in and you will be fine. There really isn't any sonic difference between the new entry level stuff from those brands and the units under the "pro" style ones that I listed.

If it were me and $200 I'd would exclusively buy used.
