hi i have been looking at tons of videos all day about how to set gains on a sub amp. i have tried and am completely lost. when i touch the speaker terminals with the DMM it says 0 volts... wtf... super annoying so i cant even get passed the first part in this battle in hell... if anyone can help me out with a easy way to set it let me know asap. also with the subs and everything plugged in and all knobs down i hear no sound from the subs at all as if they are getting no power. AHH!! please help!

hey neon i was just doing a little searching around the forums and found you discussing gains with a few other members. i few people said setting by ear is the best way for the average (me) user. but one thing odd about this is the fact that the subwoofer with the gains all the way up is almost inaudible... so is there a way i can fix this and try to set it by ear? my high and low pass are turned all the way down.. could this be the problem?

Your other post said you are running a 1606D with an Alpine deck. Start with these settings....

Subsonic at halfway (12 O'clock). Bass EQ off (0 db). Low Pass a little less that halfway ( 11 O'clock). Phase at 0. Level at 3/4 (3 O'clock).

If you're not getting any sub at these levels then you have something wired wrong.

ok ill try these settings tomm hopefully. thank you for your advice. but one thing i was also thinkin is maybe it could be the subs? maybe? i mean it was working with the other amp but when i wired it up to this one it wasnt working so i mean maybe the hifonics doesnt support the way its wired??? i dont know this probably sounds really stupid... thanks for advice
