Posted December 19, 200717 yr Alright its been taking me a while to decide a setup. I was lookin into not TOO expensive but also not too cheap. I am not looking for the best SQ out there. Just something that will sound decent and i just wanna make sure this isnt just pure crap. This is what i have come up with.fronts http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSTON-ACOUSTICS-SL60-...1QQcmdZViewItemrearshttp://cgi.ebay.com/POLK-AUDIO-MMC570-MOMO...1QQcmdZViewItem Edited December 19, 200717 yr by SEC
December 19, 200717 yr Why are you even doing rears? When you listen to your music.. do you sit in the back seat?
December 19, 200717 yr Author na but my friends do and i already have a 4 channel amp soo i was thinkin i might as well just throw something back there better then stock
December 19, 200717 yr Or not, just because you have a 4 channel amp doesn't mean you can't bridge it for just the front speakers. Or better yet, use it to run the front speakers passive.
December 19, 200717 yr Author well that was a consideration cause i belive my amp can put out about 220 watts bridged its actually a 6 channel amp i just said 4 cause thats all i was planning on using Edited December 19, 200717 yr by SEC
December 19, 200717 yr well if you MUST run rear speakers, get a cheap pair and run them off the deck. you can always fade to the front if you dont wanna hear them...http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4910^^ somethin like thatbut do as john said. bridge the 4channel if you dont wanna go active to get more power out of the amp for your fronts
December 19, 200717 yr Author Alright alright, and one thing im VERY confused on is the whole passive and active stuff. Whats the main diffrence between the2 ?
December 19, 200717 yr passive = passive (fixed xover frequency) crossover like so:http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSTON-ACOUSTICS-SL60-...1QQcmdZViewItemactive = active crossover (adjustable xover frequency) + separate drivers each with its own amplifier channel. example of an active crossover:http://cceshop.com/coustic-3way-electronic...ver-p-1257.html
December 19, 200717 yr As stated before rears are a waste of money, put your budget in the fronts instead.

December 20, 200717 yr What amp will you be using and what is your budget?Your best bet will be a good active setup and some smart sealing/deadening to the front doorsIf you don't want to mess with active the Pioneer PRS components would be great with some some sealing to the doors
December 20, 200717 yr Author what about just these for the rears?http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=10508and run them off the headunit power then have the boston acoustics in the front
December 20, 200717 yr Not even just cheap ones that would be better then stock?correctnothing back there would be better than even fancy stuffs
December 24, 200717 yr Author Alright now that i just realized that every comment in this thread was about how i should just not use rears. How are the boston acoustic speakers i picked out?
December 24, 200717 yr Author I have a jl e6450 6 channel amp. But i might downgrade to a 4 channel one also can tweeters be ran off the amp and then me not having to use the crossover? Edited December 24, 200717 yr by SEC
